hey

does anyone know who has the best price on the AR raddlock?

i generally wouldnt worry about it, but i just bought a brand new C.A.R. upper and a bunch of other goodies to finish a build, so im on the low side financially right now.

Jicko

best vs worst price is not going to be more than $5 diff....

if you still cannot afford that... maybe you cannot afford this shooting hobby....

yea, i spoke to them a few minutes ago and got it handled...

jicko, not to sound like an a**hole, but no matter how much money a person has, that doesnt keep them from looking for a great deal. $5.00 difference is quite a bit in the long scheme of things.

and as far as being able to "afford" this shooting hobby...i ran a little short this week....i spent over $4500 on new computers for my office, my shop ( im a licensed outfitter and gunsmith) and my house ( new computer for my son, and two new laptops, one for the wife and one for myself)...im 41 years old, own my own business, own my own 4 bedroom 2 bath home OUTRIGHT ( paid $265,000 cash for it) and own more toys than most people have in their entire lives

i probably pay more in insurance each month than alot of people i know make working a full time job

point being, i could probably afford if i dipped into my accounts to buy and sell most people i know. i have a specific accounts that i use for specific things. i dipped into my incidental account and tapped it until books day, thats why i asked for info on whom had the best deal, not because im destitute or flat broke. maybe you should assume someone cant "afford" something before commenting.

good for you! and nice toys!

my original point was... looking hard for good deals is all good and fine... but do it on "bigger" items.... like your upper or your scope etc.... it is much easier for us to help you save some bucks.... now, trying to look for good deals on a $30 item... your amount of savings will not justify the effort that you have to put in... and for us to go around and try to help you find the best deal.... if you ask us for uppers, some of us will even go out and browse the sites that we knew and we shopped and try to find you a good deal....

all i was trying to say is... there aren't much of anyone giving breaks on these CA-specific items (especially that the RADDLOCK is sole source....).... everyone is getting them about the same price... and everyone is selling them about the same price...

PS. upper-wise.... Aimsurplus's DD M4 V2 upper for $899 (or their XV upper) are just killer deals!! DD-M4-V2 is a completed 16" carbine upper w/ FF quad rail.... FSB+DD fixed rear sight.... etc

oh, i have my build done, and have a regular gen II bullet button. i was just thinking id like to check out the reddlock with the screw so you can change the configuration on it as i trip over to oregon and nevada when i can. im only about 65 miles from K falls as the crow flies....

i try to find the best deal i can on everything, weather it be a $5.00 item or $500 item. heck, i just bought my upper from MA parts online, got it today and put it together and took it out and shot it.....shot better than my bushmaster.little sucker was rippin pop cans to pieces 100 yards out without any sight adjustments shooting armscor 55gr FMJ bullets over 23,5gr H322 in lake city brass...nasty accurate load in my vamint barreled ar they say their barrels are wilson ( and this one shot so well, id have to believe it) and the upper is a LM&T, which from what i see is pretty nice.

heres the one i finished today

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v291/johnsguns/todays.jpg

only thing im going to change really is im going to put a rail gas block on it. when i ordered it, the ddnt give the option in the menu to do it, and in talking to them, they said you have to call and ask. no big, already ordered one..LOL

i have a 4 miles X 5 mile flat piece of ground behind my place. i was going to invite everyone up this summer for a shoot, but just didnt have time. maybe next summer

im sorry if i sounded like an a**hole. its been one of those days and i just took your post wrong.

i think i posted this one already, but its one of my favorites. it is an unfired arsenal built original national match 45. i bought it at a gunshow from a guy for $400 bucks because he thought the sights were after market somene addedd onto it. i guess he didnt look at every part in it is marked "NM". it is still in the original militaryissue box also. brought it home, looked it up and found out its worth something like $2000+

actually, the M&A upper is a sweet shooter. im pretty happy with it for the money i paid for it. i took it out today and shot it after i got it, and out of the box was bustin pop cans at 100 yards with it. didnt get it for a long range shooter, just wanted to put something together that i wouldnt worry about bangin and smackin around in the truck.

ill post more gun pix tomorrow. ive got about 80 gigs of pix but ive got to resize and upload them to post them.

I think this guy must be rich or something :o

LongRangeShootin
11-07-2009, 8:30 AM
no, i wouldnt consider myself "rich" at all in any sense of the word. i just learned early on how to manage my money effectively. plus, when i had enough saved, i paid cash for my home, hence no rent/morgage/lease bullchit to have to pay each month. its amazing how much money the average american ( especially in california) pays on rent/morgage each year. say you own a 3 bedroom home in california. depending on the area, ect average mortgage payment (i looked it up on google) is between $2000 and $3000, depending on what your home costs. lets take the middle of the road on that and say $2500 bucks a month. you multiply that by 12 months, and the average yearly payout on a home in california is around $30,000 A YEAR, and thats not counting interest payments (which most of your payments go to),taxes,ect......the average american pays almost two thirds of their monthly income in rent/mortgage payments....

you could buy alot of fun toys and goodies for $30,000 a year, couldnt ya?.... all i pay an average of around $900 a year in taxes.....

plus, i own two businesses of which the profits are free and clear as i have virtually nil overhead, and my office and shop are right on the property i own, so no rent there!.....not a matter of being rich, its a matter of knowing how things work and managing your money......my advice to anyone and everyone, especially young people is if youd like to enjoy yourself later in life, save now and buy your own home outright and pay cash for it. it all starts there. even if you have to eat beans to do it, put money away each month in an interest bearing account, as much as you can afford and dont touch it....then when you get the money saved , find a nice home, offer $5000 to $15,000 or more BELOW the asking price , and offer to pay cash, all inclusive with a short escrow so you can start moving in asap

plus it helps if you have a wife that got an extremely large cash settlement like mine did...LOL......

i have another moneymaker in the works too.....for a long time, i have owned a domain named "www.GunsBay.Net" (for almost 8 years)

i originally bought the domain to open up my own firearms auction site as gunbroker pissed me off one day. i just havent gotten around to setting it up.

then a couple of days ago, i found out about gunpal

i sent them a email asking them if they wanted to get involved with GunsBay.net , and we could set gunpal up as the primary form of payment (like paypal and ebay)..havent heard back from them yet, but personally, i think it would be a smokin setup, especially if we set the site up with really reasonable rates,ect........all ive got to do is find a good auction software....
