Federal agents seized a major arms cache that included explosives, machine guns, assault rifles, and tens of thousands of rounds of ammunition discovered as Berkeley firefighters battled a blaze in a 3027 Adeline St. liquor store early Wednesday.

And a 178 Plant marijuana Grow.


Sounds like a pretty nice gun collection.

We've yet to see if the firearms were truly illegal. We all know that news reports can be skewed, and that the "machine guns" could simply be pre-2000 legal AK variants or AR variants. Plus, the Barrett isn't necessarily illegal even if it isn't registered yet as the .50BMG registration isn't yet due.

We'll see how it plays out, but I really hate all the bad press with regards to the firearms aspects of this incident.
