i understand the whole once it has a stock it's always a rifle deal. here is a ? what if you took your rifle lower to a 07 mfg. and had them work on it and turn it into a pistol and they logged into their books as pistol? or is that against atf b.s? the reason i ask is i was looking on gb and a guy who is a 07 was selling a 308 pistol lower but it had a stock on it. it got me to thinking if he was able to do that or not.

There's a lot of crap on GB and a lot of people self-incriminating there.
If it's ever had a stock on it I'd walk away.
An 07 is not allowed to do that.
Once the receiver has had a buttstock attached, it's a rifle/long gun for life. Turning it into a pistol would be possession and manufacturing of an unregistered SBR and the ATF wants their $200 for that.
Not to mention the fit CA would throw over it.
