I live in Modesto and although there are some decent guys around here there is NO selection on ARs, Saigas etc....I want to know where I can go and hold and take a look at some options....bay area, sacramento whereever...is there a GREAT shop out there somewhere that has a good selection of guns and accessories?

I haven't been to J&R Sports in Livermore, but I've heard very good things about them. If you make it all the way out to the Fremont area, Irvington Arms is really good.

Shooters Paradise in Yuba City has a couple of .308 Saiga's in stock. They usually have a crapload of AR stuff in there too. Last time I was there a few weeks ago they had a dozen or so stripped lowers of various makes for 250 each. There was a piston upper that I didn't look at real close for a good price too...
I usually deal with Gunsmith and Mercantile in Yuba City...not much in the way of in-stock stuff but Kevin, the guy that runs the place, is top notch as far as customer service and knowledge.

All the guys at PRK Arms make a "clanking" noise when they walk.

JK Supply in Ione

Ryan has a pretty good stock of items and he can usually get whatever you want and his customer service is first class.

Castro Valley Gun Shop is now Bullseye Castro Valley; they just re-opened recently. From all indications things are going well there so far.

J&R in Livermore, hands down the4 best shot i ever been too. The guys there know their shiz, and are very helpful. Not to mention very OLL friendly, and always has a good selection of guns.

+1 for J&R in Livermore.

They have several different OLL's in stock, and a nice selection of uppers. They also have complete AR's for you to hold and drool over. They are Calgun friendly to boot. A very good shop to support - and the closest to you

Metco in Cordelia is a great shop. Has really good prices, beats about everyone I've seen on Surefire prices.

AAA in Vallejo on Georgia St. has stripped Spike, RRA, Stag lowers for $175. 11 months ago I paid over 300 for a DSA Spartan stripped lower.

last time i went to aaa sports they charged me $45.00 for a ppt.i told them by law its $35.00 and they told me the $10.00 increase was because ppt`s were time consuming with all the paperwork that had to be done.:rolleyes:
i did the ppt anyway, but it`ll be the last one i do there.

Agreed. I've been to most other bay area shops. J&R is on the top of my list.
