I actually like Daniel Defenses FDE color on their rails like below but i hate how tan and FDE looks way off from it is there a duracoat color that would match that darker color i know LWRC's receivers are damn close.

Yeah everyones is a bit different.... trying to match greens is even worse.

Just tell anyone who asked that its not suppost to match...thats how camo works. :D

If you want everything the same color you can duracoat or spray paint it.

Dude, is your period button not working?

Anyways, even LWRC's uppers and lowers don't match.

Like Bonecutter said, that's how camo works! :)

I hope it is closer than the Magpul FDE I just did a camo rifle with the Magpul FDE as the base color and ended up spraying all the Magpul FDE parts with the Duracoats well because the color was so far off. In my opinion your better off just duracoating everything if your like me and picky about the match.

Why not cerakote? I'm reluctant to try duracoat because of known durability issues. Duracoat shows holster wear quite quickly on my friend's handgun.

I haven't tried any competitive coatings, but the very similar ceramic coatings I've seen on engine parts have lasted for a very long time. Cerakote has a baked-on and a dried-on set of products. For aluminum, I guess I'd want to use the dried-on stuff, though 250F for an hour shouldn't ruin the T6 heat treatment.

Maybe it's too expensive to use on an AR, but has anyone tried cerakote? In socal, I found customizedcreationz.com, but he only shows pistols in his website.

that's what i was going for but a black reciever (2-tone). that's more the tan color i'm hoping to get. hence i tried to stick with all magpul stuff.
