Has anyone signed the petition form at the NRA booth or while in line at any current CA gun show.

I signed one last weekend at the Ontario gun show and saw tons of people there signing away while waiting to pay addmission to the show or while signing up at the NRA booth.

Haven't seen one. Going to have to hit Trader Joe's in Upland this weekend... there's usually a blond, bearded guy there collecting signatures for conservative measures. If they've hired collectors, he will probably have it.

A lady working one of the other booths brought some over to us at the Calgun booth at the Ontario show on Sat. We told all of the people who came to the booth about it and had them sign it.

I left at 1:30, but I presume she returned at the end of the show and picked them up like she told us she would.

Some of the people told me they had already signed it prior to coming to our booth.

I'm assuming this is different than the online petition on the Cal-NRA website to repeal AB962 and support AB373?

Is the online petition the same one being circulated at the shows?

I'm just curious if this is simply a petition to gather support for AB373, or is someone making an effort to get a referendum of AB962 on the ballot next year, which as we discussed in another thread, may not be a good idea because if it fails, it will give the gun grabbers huge ammunition to say "look, the people of CA support AB962"

If it's a support petition for AB373, fantastic. We won't see collectors outside of Trader Joe's with it, but whatever we can do will certainly help show those in Sacramento how we feel.

I can't recall the exact details of the petition but it was geared towards getting AB962 off the books.

I know that those at the Calguns booth and at the NRA booth were going out to get people to sign the petition. Many people had signed the petition while in line to pay for admission into the show.

If most people who attended the show signed the petition then that should add a hefty ammount of power behind what ever Gene Hoffman and the like have up their sleeves.

I did hear almost everyone around me talk about how they all felt AB962 was BS. I dont think I have ever seen so many people feel the same way about a soon to be law as when the Assault Weapons ban in 94.

Okay... if Gene is behind it then I'm sure it's not a referendum measure to put a direct repeal of AB962 before the voters.
The only other thing currently going is the push on AB373, which, being an AB, is internal to Sacramento and needs no public signatures to actually be put up for a vote... but a ton of public signatures will sure send a message to the Assembly that this IS what we want, and if AB373 is not passed, that a referendum on AB962 has the momentum to get on the next ballot.

Of course, AB373 will still need Arnold's signature, so he needs to feel the pressure as well, including letters and phone calls politely (we don't want to p*ss him off and get a veto on AB373) expressing our dissatisfaction with his signing of AB962.
