Anyone interested in a group lunch or dinner for CalGunners that have CCWs in the Ventura County area? If we could get enough people, we could reserve a conference room at a local eatery. Thoughts?

Well......it seemed like a good idea. Never mind!

What? Both of you?

 Wish I could get one too!

I wish you could as well. Have you applied?

No. Unfortunately, "Personal/Self Defense" is still not a good enough 'Good Cause' for this county.

I still haven't been able to figure out how the Sheriff is convinced that it's more acceptable for you to protect yourself, family and belongings moreso than me.

Evidently he has determined that your life is worth more than mine. Just wondering by what criteria he has used.

Not true. Everyone knows that an injun scalp brings more than a balding white man's does!

Dude, it's your haircut! ;)

What? I'm trimmed very nicely now, thankyouverymuch!

(just barely sitting in my collar now)

Still doesn't change the fact that evidently the pigs in Animal Farm were right. All are equal, some are just more equal than others.

The Sheriff probably doesn't want to see this headline:

"Native American hippie gun nut gets CCW permit. Hide the children!" ;)

:rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2:

Probably not, huh?
(although it would be less likely to have to hide the children and more likely to hide the single women!) :p

I think they are safe either way. ;)

Let's see if anyone else jumps in. There aren't very many of us. Perhaps we could make it a CCW holder and those that want to get their CCW event?

Except for the hippies, of course. ;)

I'm in Ventura County, and would also like to apply for a CCW permit, but haven't been able to figure out what to give as a reason, given that personal defense isn't acceptable. Any hints?

Unfortunately, if you don't have a valid reason to apply, the Sheriff is unlikely to issue to you at this time.

About to move to Simi Valley. Going to apply anyway. "Not good enough" be damned.
