ehh...man, i've been guilty of going to the range almost every 1-1.5 weeks the past 3 months because i started owning my own personal firearms. i think i need to cut down, but i'm addicted.

i'm just asking because this hobby, although i love it, costs a LOT of money and ammo is hard to find these days!

1 or 2 times a week

after I get settled in the new place and job I hope to hit the range at least 2 times a month if not once a week when I start reloading.

i go in spurts. I will go 2-3 ties a week for about a month then not go for a couple months then go again and the cycle keeps repeating.
ever since I joined a private gun club its real convenient.

Nowhere near enough.

I second that. I go about once ever 2 months. Pretty much whenever I can make it to chico because I love shooting at the clay pit for free but hate paying to shoot at places here in the bay area.

2-3 times/month and mostly shoot rifle as pistol ammo is so hard to find!

GO! And go as much as you can. Life will have other things to pop up later to get in the way and you will never have really shot that gun enough, sighted that scope in or enjoyed that rifle as much as you could have.

You might move to a job where the range is farther out. Or CA could ban ranges due to noise pollution for the rare brazilian red ant population. Then you will have wished you went more when you could have.

My range is 5 miles away and another tactical range is 3 miles away, can't beat that.

Every other weekend, sometimes more.

1-2 times every 3-5 months. My two closest ranges are about 40mins to 1hr away, that and my job pays $&#. I wish I could go more.

Once every 3 weeks ish, or when money permits!

The biggest reason for me is simply that I do not have a car and there is no practical way to get to any range in my area without a car; since most of my friends have in the last year or so moved away, it gets hard to hitch a ride.

The last time I actually went with a West End member, which was sweet. No one around in the private range, no one putting magnets to my ammo (I can only afford surplus and cheap ammo, which means often ferrous metals are in the jackets, which sucks at some ranges, which is another factor), long ranges, and I didn't have to pay a dime; and my friend I went with bought me lunch and drinks at the Bass Pro, as he lost a bet to me at the range. Good times.

But yeah, I really need to practice and keep up the skills I already have; if you don't hit the range for months it really shows.

Still unemployed so I'm down to 1-2 times per month.

It used to be once a week, but I haven't been able to find any ammo, so I haven't gone in almost 3 months!

thanks to the hoarders and resellers that caused the price inflation, the local shops I used to buy ammo are no longer affordable.

Not in a while.

I miss President Bush years, when ammo was plentiful, the days of 180 dollar 1k case quality plinking 45 ACPs from local gunshops.

I usually go once a week.

I sometimes can squeeze in a mid week quickie at this Van Nuys joint on the way home from work. That really clears the cobwebs from time to time.

For me it seems to depend on gas prices.

The lower they are the more often I go since the outdoor range I got to SBR&G, is about an hour away.

When ammo was a lot cheaper, I usually go once a week. Now, it's about once every other week and I have to limit myself on how much I shoot. :(

used to go every other week but now once a month maybe twice.

Rekrab

Typically once a week. I'm still learning and improving so I'd like make sure I'm keeping up until the training really starts to kick in and I'm shooting tight groupings. I miss a week and I forget a lot, so I have to spend more time dry firing.

Typically shoot 100-150 rounds a weekend.

Homebuddy
10-26-2009, 12:33 PM
I used to go to the range once every two weeks and stay for an hour. Now with the high cost of ammo I only go once a month and only spend about half an hour.

Never shot at a shooting range, but I like to shoot at least once a week. I love shooting .22lr because I can shoot it all day without hurting my wallet. Same with shotgun and clays.

Once every month or two...

10-26-2009, 12:47 PM
I haven't shot anything centerfire in close to a year. Not because of ammo or money, but because of time and being bored of the same range. I do shoot my rimfires like everyday in my back yard though. The squirrels are getting few and far between though now.:p

haven't gone since september 7. got a new job which is about 45 minutes away from local range. ab 962 being signed also prevents me from going. i focus now on stock piling ammo

Once per month minimum. Every night in my dreams.

RickD6023
10-27-2009, 9:43 AM
Nowhere near enough.

Me too!

I only get out twice a month for competition due to limited ammo supplies. My preference is once a week as a MINIMUM which I was doing until Nov 4th.

RogueSniper
10-27-2009, 3:36 PM
At least once/month. If I'm shooting 9mm or 45ACP, it's usually my own reloads so the cost isn't too prohibitive. Or, I'll shoot non-reloadable steel case/aluminum and it saves me the trouble of grubbing brass off the floor.

Most of the time I'll shoot .22s, either dedicated .22 firearms or my .22 conversion kits.

Never enough. Not enough time, ammo, or money. I dry fire as much as possible and get out to BLM lands maybe once a month.

10-27-2009, 4:18 PM
For a while i was doing once a week but money is limiting that.

I just bought a .22LR so maybe i can start making more trips.

Havent been to the range in over a month but ive taken my rifles up into the mendo forest two weeks back and had a little plinking fun.

Once a week, sometimes more. With ammo & money being short, it's been cut down from before.

Darklyte27
10-27-2009, 4:28 PM
the least 0-1 times a month, the most 4 or so times a month.

tba02
10-27-2009, 5:15 PM
Public Range = once every couple of months (Skeet/Trap and some 25yds)
Private Land = 2-3 times a month - 2 sessions/day each trip (.22LR and Pistols in various calibers)

NRAhighpowershooter
