Ok so I was in vegas for the weekend for a wedding. We were staying in henderson but I knew about the gun store. I had to go. After all of the adds and billboards on the I-15 I thought the place would be a big place. Well after driving up to it I was surprised that it was smaller then I expected

Anyway. I sign in and go for the Choice Package which consisted of the HK MP5, Remington 870, and the iconic AK-47. The MP-5 was a fun and easy gun to shoot. The shotgun had a big kick. I actually liked cocking the shotgun more then shooting it :) and the ak was intense. I was actually shaking a bit but it was fun.

Overall I had a great time at the gun store in las vegas. I highly recommend going there if u want to shoot a full auto machine gun or assault rifle. But make sure u have some cash cause it is expensive (25 rounds with the ak47 which is 50 bucks can go by in 30 seconds and that's with bursts and pacing urself :D)

that place had fed californians s*** load of BS in the past.

They gave visitors from Cali PITA attitude, treated everyone as criminals who just want to buy high-cap mags from their store and

illegally bring back to PRK. The gun store las vegas might have changed its ways thanks to the current economic climate

the owner came here once and tried to win some customers back, he sounded like a decent guy.

however most of us would not give them any business because of his sh**ty employees and how they treated Californians in the past.

Why should somebody do a search to give their opinion on an experience. I never saw a thread about The Gun Store dissing Kalifornians. I appreciate the OP's experience. I've always wanted to go there. Next time I'm in LV, I will. If the customer service sucks, I'll let you know, but I won't do a "search" first.

"Las Vegas Gun Store": enforcing CA laws? (http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=31226)

THe Gun Store in Las Vegas sucks! (http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=101817)

That's why you need to do a "search" first.

I went there 3 years ago and the staff was very pleasant. I told them I was from California and wanted to buy an M1 Garand on their racks and they politiely told me that they cannot do that, that I can only buy in whatever state I live in. They we talked a bit about how backwards California is, but in no way was it insulting.

Oh yeah, the MP40, M1A1 Thompson and M16 were fun too. :D

I have been there before, I was in Vegas visiting my wife's aunt and uncle. We didn't shot anything but we looked and I bought a shirt. The guys there were really friendly and we bs'ed for a bit. It sounds like you had a good time. Maybe the next time I go down there I will have to play too.

The wife and I brought our niece and her new husband to Vegas for a week and we just got back last night, and yes I went to the Gun Store. Overall it was a nice clean store and the staff were nicer than a lot of stores here in "The Peoples Republic". Oh and the blowguns work great. :D

Yeah I was going to say, I was in vegas a few months ago and stopped through with a friend of mine. By far the worst ive been treated at any gun range in america. Everything we asked them seemed to me like it was such a ordeal for them to give an answer, and the whole time it was a "whaadya want, whaddaya want, whaddaya want" type of attitude. There was about 10 people working there, all of them with the tough guy sidearm attitude. Ive dealt with alot of those types at other gun stores and ranges, but ive never seen people act like as they do at the gun store in las vegas. Hell, every single one of them kept their hand on their sidearm like a officer just waiting to unlatch their retension holster. I did not care for it, neither of us looked like thugs or gangsters, and we spent a good amount of money there, and I for one will never go back, and I will tell others of the ill experience I recieved as a californian....

next time, check out Discount Firearms (if still open) and Citadel Gun & Safe.
both are cali friendly my experience

Already crossed that part out. It wasn't my intention to crap on the op or his review.
People are probably better off knowing what happened to other customers in the past, and there are other places to shop in Las Vegas will treat Californians with the equal dignity and respect, don't you agree?

I said they were treating all Californian visitors as criminals who would bring high cap magazines back to the state, if you actually read my post.

so after two thousand and six hundred posts on this forum, you still haven't read this

http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=31226

I'll keep this brief, but it's worth reading. It'll piss you off:

Two weeks ago I was in the "Las Vegas Gun Store" (the one that advertises machine gun rentals at around 30 rounds for $40.00!)

Anyway, I was at the counter when a customer walked in and asked to buy some hi cap M1A magazines. The clerk told the customer they had them in stock, but that he needed to see the customer's I.D. The customer showed the guy his CA I.D or Driver's license and the clerk became an instantaneous loud, arrogant smart *****.

The clerk spoke very loud (I'm guessing in order to impress his co-workers and to gain the attention of every customer in the store) and told the poor guy that it was "illegal" for the CALIFORNINA resident to buy hi caps.

The customer wasn't satisfied with that simple answer so he asked the "gun store lawyer": Since when is it illegal for a person in Nevada to purchase a hicap magazine? The clerk said, "The California DOJ says it's illegal for us to sell them to CA residents."

WHAT????????? (That's what the customer said too!). The customer said something to the effect of, "Since when does the long arm of the CA DOJ stretch across stateline and enforce their laws in NV?"

The customer kept going very politely and told the clerk that the CA penal code does not prohibit a CA resident from conducting business OUTSIDE of CA. The resident said he knew it was illegal for him to transport the magazines back into CA, but he planed on keeping them out of CA.

Well, the clerk then said, that CA DOJ will sue the NV gun store if they sell to residents of CA. Since when can the CA DOJ sue another business in another state for conducting a LEGAL business in his own state (NV)????

So basically, it kind of came out that it's not that CA DOJ has NO jurisdiction outside of their borders, but I believe it was the Las Vegas Gun Store that just has a store policy not to sell to CA residents!

Man, tyranny, socialisim, dictatorships are well and alive in CA. The CA DOJ now has honest companies doing business in other states running completely scared.

I believe that the Las Vegas Gun Store is also weak and worthless. The gun store selling a legal product in their state can't be responsible for the illegal use of their product. If that were the case, then gun manufacturing companies would be loosing the past frivilous law suits they've been getting hit with over the years. Heck, beer companies would have stopped selling beer and alcohol years ago because a drunk driver used their product.

Get what I'm saying?

Bottom line, Las Vegas Gun Store is weak, scared and has a rotten store policy. Does anyone here know of a law in CA or NV that says, "when a CA customer is physically in NV, buying a legal product in NV, don't sell to him?"

I sure don't and I'd love for anyone to find that law. Yeah, if it's transported back to CA, it would be illegal. That's not the issue here on my thread.
Thanks.

As posted earlier, Discount Guns and Citadel Gun and Safe are "don't ask, don't tell" stores in regards to anything except firearms. I like and buy stuff at both stores, prices are good too. American Shooters is open and should be checked out too, friendly staff.

If you are from the PRK and you are buying "standard capacity" magazines, for whatever reason, do so sensibly. Don't go in in and ask to buy "6 Glock 22 mags" (red flag). If you are told that the store will not sell magazines to CA. residents, it's the owners right to refuse service to anyone he/she chooses. And it may not be the CA DoJ making the fuss, Nevada has a DoJ too. Clark County is CA. east. All handguns sold in Clark Co. are registered. Yup, you have to have your "blue card" with your gun. So if the Gun Store won't sell to you take your business somewhere else, don't take it out on the staff. It only stands to reason if you're from CA. you'd be taking the contraband magazines back with you (even if you really weren't, you have a place in NV get a NV ID).

Come on, bud. Relax. I just happen to side with Hooz on this one. I had a negative experience at a Vacaville store, and will happily share it and promote my personal experience each time I see this store's name come up. Why? I want to save someone else the pain of going through bad service.

How about everyone jumping on Krinker Plinker? I'm sure there are a couple satisfied customers, but there are plenty of dissatisfied customers. Pretty much all of Calguns is anti-Krinker Plinker, I don't see anyone defending them...

I took my CCW class there a few years ago, several classes a week makes it easy to fit one into your schedule. They are very accommodating to Californians and at least 4 of the people in my class were from CA.

I relaxed :)

The OP was just sharing the fun experience he had. Then people start in on how bad that place sucks, because they won't sell mags, etc to Ca. residents. That's fine. I don't mind the warning, but the OP wasn't recomending them for their outstanding customer service... they just happen to be one of the few places average people get to shoot FA weapons.

I have no problem with sharing a bad experience, despite others' opinions of a store. To each his own. Hell, I have a big problem with the practices/attitude over at Ammo Bros., but I know many people like them, so I won't ram my views/feelings down their throat. I posted my issues, and that was that.

That's all. Carry on

Mustang Range located just East of Reno is the place to go. They do a huge machine gun shoot there every Father's day, but they have a great selection of FA guns there to shoot on any occasion

Oh wow time for bed. I was reading that as the Mustang Ranch. Imagine what a huge MG shoot with them would look like...
