View Full Version : Is this lockbox cheap for a reason?
I saw this lock box mentioned on a thread here and I am wondering if there is a reason that it is so cheap. Does anyone know anything about it?

Check with your local gun shop. there is a recall on some models of stack on lock boxes, Maybe check and see if they have a website

Sorry, just remembered that the recal was because you could rattle the door open without using the combination.
Well, that would kind of defeat the purpose. Thanks for the info.

Recall information (http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml05/05509.html)
Apparently the recall didn't involve the model Midway is currently selling, below is Stack-On's answer to me about this safe. By the way the recall link said the faulty units originally sold for $40, after $25 ground shipping to LA Midway's safe doesn't seem like a real bargain.

Re: Midway Stack-On Strong Box Safe Product #PS-514 #391612
The recall did not include the PS-514. If you go to
www.stack-on.com (http://www.stack-on.com) and click on the bottom link titled
recall it will take you to a picture of the only safe involved
in the recall and yes, it has been corrected for quite some
Thank you, Rhonda Frook
