I enjoy reading about tips and trick other shooter use. Thought we could start a list of shooting tips to share with each other.

I'll go first....

If you have an illuminated reticule scope, close the front cap and use both eyes for targeting. Your open eye will view your target while your scope eye views the crosshairs/reddot. Working them together they will line up and you can run-n-gun and make hits up close or even out to 100 yards in a pinch using a long range rifle.

Can't agree with you more, as I shot my best OH score of 189 on Saturday after lots of dry firing standing in front of the tube.

Don't hold your breath. Break your shot during the natural respiratory pause.

+1 for dry firing. I usually do that in the dark to concentrate totally on trigger control. The old quarter on the end of the barrel works well also.

Take care,Stan

please elaborate of the quarter trick?

Balance a coin on near the front sight and dry fire. When you can do that reliably without the coin falling your shots will break clean.

You balance a coin on top of the end of the barrel and try not to have it fall as you squeeze the trigger. Basically, it's a drill to keep the gun steady thru the trigger pull process.

ETA: Dammit, got beat to the draw! :D

you can use ab empty shell standing on end of the barell instaed of a coin for the dry firing technique.

that and fire your shot at the natural pause in your exhale as suggested earlier.

also you just the tip of your index finger on the trigger (as some people insert their finger until the first joint)

bring the gun sights to your eyes...do not bring your eyes to the sights

Punch out the fired primers of used casings and replace with a fitted pencil eraser.
Instant snap cap!
