Open shop...you just go to him and he does what you need right then and there. No appointment needed. I'm not sure what hour the drop in starts and ends though...

I take walk-in customers on tuesdays and thursdays, but you do need to make an appointment ahead of time and confirm by calling ahead before you come over.

Your Noveske barrel is stainless so it can't be parkerized.
In order to make stainless black, you can send it out for black oxide or any of the spray-on finishes such as duracoat.
Be careful with spray-on finishes on the gas block seat as that's a precisely fit diameter where spray-on finishes often cause a problem.

You can have it Ion bonded, it doesn't add any thickness to the gas block area to worry about. "Daves Metal Works" can do it, he is in Covina, he then sends it on to have it bonded. His number is in the gunsmithing section. I was going to do it to a Noveske barrel I have but decided against it. I have it done to all my dirt bike suspension tubing, it is called DLC coating, a licensed name from a company in Europe. Nearest place is North Carolina for DLC.

Depends on the rest of the parts of the build.
I would make the barrel black first.

No, the REST of the parts of the upper.
Gas block, handguard system etc...

you have a suppressor?

DOJ was at the gun show this weekend handing out suppressor permits like candy.
I got 4 of them.
You mean you didn't pick up any?
Sucks to be you...

The barrel definitely needs to be finished before the assembly and permanent attach job with those parts.
