just brought a .440 corbon barrel for ar15 for a great deal, the orignal didnt have any clue on how to put it to use, so i thought that i might get it and put it to a good use, but i was wondering if i could use the .223 bcg? and also does it need a different magazine?

thanks!

.440 Corbon is based on .45 ACP.incorrect.

You might be thinking of the .400 Corbon, which is a necked down .45ACP.

.440 Corbon is a necked down .50AE. So, you need a bolt with a breach face set up for .50AE, which is the same as .44mag, IIRC. I always thought is was funny that the .50AE was a .44mag case head with the body blown out to .50. Then they took the .50AE and necked it down to .44. So, looking at the case, it starts at .44, goes to .50, and comes back down to .44.

My bad, I was thinking of the .400 Corbon, thank you for correcting me.
