Kimber Caprivi .458 Lott --

Eleven days (Fort Courage has a few days off in there) and she's mine! Mine! Wonderfully light and well balanced --
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p54/Fasanoland/photo.jpg
I'm gonna zero her at 50 yards from the led sled and then probably never fire her again until the swelling goes down...

What's more painful? Another 458 Lott, a 550 from CZ coming by the end of the week. Well at least they can use those "light" .458 Winchester Mags as well

It's from his tears.

The words "wonderfully light" and Lott are mutually exclusive. They don't belong in the same sentence. Hell, they don't belong in the same paragraph.

Raining like hell that day. We were under cover but it was nature versus nature (ie., recoil and foot pounds) that day.

OMG

"The rifle is quite popular among dangerous game hunters in Africa, where it has accrued impressive number of one-shot kills on elephants and buffalo......delivers 2,300 ft/s (700 m/s) velocities from 24-inch (610 mm)-barreled rifles, which in turn produces 6,020 ft·lbf (8,160 J) of muzzle energy" (wiki)

How freaking cool is that. Nice Elephant killer

Didn't you just start a thread about selling some of your guns because you have to many and don't use them all? And now your getting two more? Going to Africa anytime soon, or planning on hunting through walls:43: Somehow, I don't think your accountant is having any affect on you. Keep 'em coming. I used to have a saying when the economy was better, "Why stop now?"

Thats gonna leave a mark!! Wow, what is the point of that monstrosity anyway?? I figured you would have a rifle of that nature already. Looks like fun though either way.

I have a 338 Ultra Mag. That thing just plain hurts. I am sure you will have more recoil than that with the Lott. Good luck!:chris:

I don't think my 5'9" 150LB frame and that gun would mix well :(

Quite the opposite! My friend Fred in NY is seen here shooting his .500 A-Sqaure which makes .458 lot look like 220 Swift --
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p54/Fasanoland/BigFred500.jpg
Fred also has a .460 Weatherby --
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p54/Fasanoland/500460.jpg
and 500 S&W revolver and he is almost exactly your size and weight. He LOVES the big boomers -- he shoots these guns all the time without pain because he goes with the recoil. My 300 pound frame RESISTS being pushed back by the gun -- so I get ALL the recoil energy transferred into my shoulder. What's left of it.

Ummm. WOW.....And I thought MY habit of buying guns (that will never be used for what they are intended) was bad. This is friggin' hilarious!!!:p Seriously, if I suddenly decided to buy a 'Deadly 5-stopper' just so I could shoot it a few times at the range-then-keep-it-to-show-friends-at-the-BBQ, I would not go 'half-cocked.' I would go all the way with something like a Krieghoff Double in .577 Nitro!!!!!!!! THAT'S an "Elephant Gun.";)

I'll think about it when you have 2000 more posts.

That's obviously a MAJOR priority here!

It's too bad CZ doesn't make that model with the retractable ghost ring rear sight anymore instead of the open express-style sights.

So how much to shoot....like $5 a round? That's what I was told.

I saw 470 Nitro Express for $250-a-box (20) at a local gun store. I think they had the Lott for around $175 (20). Pain in the shoulder and wallet. When they chamber this in a revolver, I'll be impressed. lol....

JD JOnes will put it in a TC Encore...
Shooting t he Lott is all about gun weight and pad softness. I shot a Ruger that felt like I was being whacked with an industrial sized broom stick with each shot...

Yea, anyone who can shoulder a 35-40lb rifle is one bad ask mudda fo sha.

As far as the AR50 goes, the only way I'd use mine for a SD weapon is to use only the bolt. It would really hurt to get hit with it.
