Has anyone any experience with the H&R 500S&W rifle? I always thought a single shot 500S&W rifle would be primo. Review away!

These are not bad rifles at all.

I have the 45/70 "Buffalo rifle" version with Williams peep sights (willed to me by our friend the late Calgunner Parag).

I've also shot a version of this, scoped, in 25-06 with handloads. Absolute tack-driver.

Pretty good triggers. Elegantly simple rifle. I'd like one in 45LC/454Casull/460S&W

The H&R Handi-Rifle is a darn good one. They are very accurate. I almost bought that exact rifle, but upon closer inspection, it had a crack in the stock, right near the receiver. I don't know they commonly crack with the high-power loads, but I've wanted a rifle in 500 Magnum for some time. After 1300 rounds through my S&W 4" 500 Mag revolver, I'm bored and want a rifle. Hmmm... maybe I'll call my local pusher and see what he could do...

Ah... crap! See what you did! It's all your fault! Darn, another rifle to scope and sight in, life sucks!!

I have 30 pieces of 500S&W once-fired brass. I guess I'll have to buy a 500 S&W something.
