Well I thought I would finally take the plunge and get a AK47 from Henderson Defense and see what all the hoopla is about and can't wait to take it to the range. I know Is not as accurate as the AR and it's a Russian Red" Century "Certified" AK47 Carbine that came with the complete accessory pack, a 10/30 Mag and Bullet button but i'm hopping it will be a blast to shoot.

That looks nice man! I'm getting my first AK soon, I was thinking polymer or dark wood like yours. Was there a long wait for yours?

J,

Get a Lancaster 3060. They're all over Gun Broker and work and look great.

Nice! looks like mine. Did you get the mag. pouch, cleaning kit, and bayo included too? When I bought mine from Henderson 2 years ago, and it came with that little dealio.

I have really been on the edge of getting one, I throughly like the red look.

How does the finish feel? Smooth? The issue I had with the plum Lancaster's is that the finish is only surface deep, once small scratch and the blond underwood would stick out like a sore thumb.

Let me know, I may be ordering one next week :D

That wood looks good.

Easy tiger, saying stuff like that may lead to fatal attraction.

All these AK threads lately are making me want to build one... but you guys would hate me for being the non-traditionalist most AK guys are because I'd build something like this:

(I know it's airsoft, but still) :D

Congrats and nice rifle. Ak is a reliable battle rifle that has plenty of stopping power. I have no problem hitting a steel plate at 300 yards, and thats good enough for me.
As far as accuracy goes...well thats what the bolt gun is for.

Yeah man, I think I may go that way. Some of those look pretty sweet. Might need your assistance in getting the transaction taken care of though. Hopefully we'll see ya on Friday at the range...

You got it. We'll use Independent Armament up in San Fernando and get it done right. That way, you'll be right down the street from Angeles when you pick it up...

My AK47 came with the bayonet w/ sheath, sling, magazine pouch, chrome oil bottle, a 10/30 round mag and the finish seems good and deep but you can feel a little of the wood grain underneath. seems nice and solid and when the double stack mag is installed that seems pretty solid to. I might put a AK mount and a red dot on it and that's it. I want to keep it simple.
