Guv vetoes AB 341, limiting # non-neutered/spayed dogs & cats a seller can have at 50. Veto msg calls it "arbitrary cap" that "goes 2 far."
KQED is incorrect as the bill in question is actually AB 241 (http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/pub/09-10/bill/asm/ab_0201-0250/ab_241_bill_20090910_enrolled.html).

Excellent. For once, I get to be happy with Arnie. I rarely drag in bills like that here as it isn't our topic, but it's another place where the culture of freedom is under siege.

Hopefully, a sign.

It did for me too, until I saw the next entry...

Guv's press secy: 517 bills remain on the desk with less than 8 hrs left for decisions. Says Guv never threatened 2 veto all, just "a lot."

That one is certainly closer as it gets near hunting dogs.

Looks like he passed 2 and vetoed 2 of Kevin de Leon's bills...

The fact that there's a press release out makes me think that the Guv is all done with his signatures today.

On another thread, Gene mentioned he thinks that press release is a running list that will be updated through the night, so there is still some hope!

No, in the press release area there are 2 additional signed bills not on the list... I think he's still at it...

there are 700+bills they are wasting his time with, and the states money. Oh well...
I'm set on refresh on that bill page, good link!

Did he veto the whole thing or just cut off the bottom half with scissors?

Indeed. I have mentioned animal rights bills a couple of times for that reason, in spite of it not being exactly a gun issue.

Property rights are chipped away a bit at a time, just like gun rights. And as there is a big overlap between animal rights and anti-gunners, it's a win-win for them in the Cultural Revolution.

I've been tempted to breed a litter or two (I have an English Shepherd whose breeder really wants bred) and learn to hunt with dogs just because "a right unexercised is a right lost." My wife seems to think we have enough dog-hair in the house, however.

According to the news (For what THAT'S worth) He has signed or Vetoed 200 of the 700+ bills. BUT it appears they have been largely no-brainers or non-controvercial bills.

I imagine he will just do nothing and allow the important ones to just come to life at midnight.

The governor is an actor after all--maybe he is playing the drama up. The Last Action Hero? Fingers crossed.

I hope he is not just a hero in the movies. He will be a Liberal COWARD if he just ignores these bills to life.
