How do you know what thread you have on your AK-47 for the muzzle?

Any differance if the AK47 shoots .223 (I know it is uncommon).

No. It just depends on what type of barrel attachment you have. Most if not all AK's that have the tip of the barrel threaded are 14x1 Left Hand. If it's got an AK 74 front sight base attached to it, then it has 24mm Right Hand threads. If it's a Romanian AK 74 FSB, then it's 22mm.

I forgot to mention. You also have the option of converting the 14x1 LH thread to 24mm RH thread with this adapter.
