Does any one here shoot 577/450 Martini Henry?

I got one recently and restored it to firing condition. I have 20 pieces of new Jamison 577-450 brass that are a bit oversize that I need sized to fit the chamber. I don't have dies for this thing, just the shellholder.

Does anyone in the San Jose or Sacramento area shoot one of these?

Thanks!

There was just an article about loading for Martini Henry on surplusrifle.com

I don't even own a Martini Henry but its and interesting read because of the resourcefullness of the martini henry shooters. Check it out (impressive stuff):

Thanks guys, I found someone helpful who will size them for me.

The rifle is pretty cool for a 140 year old piece.

Yes, I shoot a MH 577/450. There is a lot to be done to reload for these. The bore size is different from the I-III and the MkIV; the voluminous case needs kapok or carded wool to fill the air void above the powder; a grease cookie and wad is required between the filler and the bullet. The brass needs to be annealed before initial use and then periodically thereafter especially if you full length resize it (I don't since I only use the cases in one rifle, a Mk IV). Don't use smokeless powder, BP or Pyrodex is what is needed.

What rifle did you get? Is it from Atlanta Cutlery or IMA?

Happy shooting!!
