Which do you prefer when transferring an AR or AK? A lockable case, a non lockable case, or don't care. Do you think it matters?

Non-lockable usually works just fine for me. Really anything that keeps them from getting dinged up is good to go.

Lockable case.

It shouldn't matter as a trunk is considered a lockable container for proper transportation. Just throw the AR in the trunk and make sure it closes. Now, getting pulled over for a negligent infraction, I would prefer the officer to see a locked case because I wouldn't want his interpretation of the law be the cause of an unlawful confiscation of any kind. Then the hassle of getting my weapon back.

Toss mine in my Eberlestock pack and go...if I put it in anything at all.

Most of my AR's are RAW's so I just put them in the trunk in a soft case.

5.11 tactical double rifle case usually, behind my seats in the cab of my truck.

No need to be locked as they aren't RAW's.

Mine's a RAW so it is in a locked case (I have a Suburban so no trunk).

I have a 5.11 tactical double rifle case as well that I put it in my trunk unlocked and my ammo in the back seat in a backpack.

I transport any firearm in a lockable case, locked.

It keeps the honest people out.

Same. All firearms whether required or not get locked up. I don't want to make it easy for anyone to go on a fishing trip at the expense of my rights.

none of my vehicles have trunks, so i have to roll with locked lockable cases. soft or hard case, it doesn't matter to me.
