Im going to sell my AR soon and put the money towards a scout squad, I have pre bans and id like to share ammo with one of my bolt guns. Around how much can these scout squads be had for new? I was also thinking of a socom 16 but hear their parts are not interchangeable with their bigger cousins.

I paid just under $1,600.00 for mine last year. From what I read Springfield is pretty diligent in their annual price increases.

man thats steep, I thought at most they were 1500. Im tired of the bullet button and I don't like featureless AR set ups but the operating system of the M1A is what gets me:).

I don't mind buying used but it seems that they come up for sale only every great once and awhile.

Check gunbroker.com regularly. I just got one new for 1500. There's been a bunch of them sold in CA recently so I'd bet a few used ones will be coming up on calguns soon, in fact there are a couple posted today.

Nothing wrong with going used, I think looking for used guns is far more interesting than buying new. And getting any kind of M1A is an interesting ride when it comes to scoping and accessories.

as much as Id love to pick up one of those screaming deals right now I need to get rid of the AR first, I love my AR but the bullet button just doesn't do it for me and the extra punch would be nice as well as sharing ammo with some other guns I have.

This GunBroker seller has Scouts and Socoms for under $1500 and he is CA friendly.

Like you, I need to sell a few things, but I may be picking up a Scout from him.

There's a reason for that! ;)
