So heres the dealeo, I'm planning to make a trip to the reno gun show in November. Im new to California so I'm used to Washington and Oregon Gun shows and rules, when I go I'm going to most likely be picking up either a G-43 or an M1 Carbine, what are the rules and laws I'm going to have to abide by and what am i going to have to do to get it back to Modesto. Also to save me time and money, is anyone in the Central Valley selling a G-43, cuz I'm looking to buy.

If you don't have a 01 or 03 FFL, most sellers won't even talk to you if your from California. Even if you do have a FFL, some of the sellers still wont talk to someone from California. Legally, if you dont have a FFL, you can purchase a rifle out of state, but the seller would have to ship it to a California FFL and you would pick it up from them after the DROS and 10 day wait, but most sellers won't go through the hassle.

You'd be surprised to see how some of them act when you pull out a wad of cash though~

Why bring up our given shortfall...CA, if you don't have to. Don't ask don't tell.

That's about the long and short of it.

If you don't already have an 03FFL now would be a good time to get one. You should have it by the time the show comes around in November.

No.

Why don't you try some of the CA shows. I have purchased many C&R's at the CA shows and rifles over 50 years old are cash and carry.

If you go and find a private party walking around with one and buy it from him I suppose that would be legal, but, what are the odds? What do you other guys think, am I wrong?

Only from a private party or an 03 collector.

I'm pretty sure buying firearms across state lines is illegal. Now if you're a Nevada resident then you can buy anything at the show cash and carry. Your call onn buying and bringing across state lines. Not my life I'm worried about

There is a fellow in the bay area who might sell a g/k43, or I have one down south, just bring lots of $$! PM me for your needs.

And as I recall prior to getting my 03, I don't think you can buy a firearm out of state, legally. Since I have mine now, I just buy what I want however there are times when sellers still won't sell to Kalifornians!

Illegal to purchase a firearm out of state and bring back to CA without an FFL. Except for 1898 and earlier long guns and black powder.
