I am going to buy another AR15 lower receiver, and wondered what people's opinions are of the C3 Defense unit. A couple comments on www.ar15.com, were not so complimentary, but maybe those were isolated issues. I was looking at the one with the built in trigger guard.

I just picked up my C3 Defense billet lower from J&R Sports in Livermore and I love it. It is a little lighter than standard forged lowers.

Check out the C3 Defense web site for more specs on the lower and what all the features are straight from C3 Defense.

I don't have any complaints about mine. I have the anti-slop screw model.

All have the anti-slop screw. See here.

The one with the built in trigger guard has the helicoil for the grip.

Sorry Phil, which one is the anti slop screw?

The site shows all the lowers.

Sorry Phil, which one is the anti slop screw?

The site shows all the lowers.

They all have the tension screw. From what I can tell from the site, if you buy ANY C3 Defense lower, you get the screw. The higher end ones, identified by the built in trigger guard, also have the helicoil pistol grip screw hole.

Click on each lower on the page I sent and you will get the features I mentioned spelled out for each lower.

I just started DROS on my C3 on Thursday from Karl’s Hardware in Rosamond. I had only two choices in the AV. It was either C3 Defense or ATI. The ATI looked like crap and was kinda heavy. The C3 was lighter than my iPhone and looked pretty sharp with the grip on the front of the magwell. I get to start building next Sunday.

Congrats! Post some pics when complete.
