Hi,
I was going through the airport this morning and briefly caught the tail end of a disussion about the SCOTUS hearing on the Chicago handgun ban on CNN. Apparently, at 4pm ET (1pm pacific - check to see if there is a delay - probably not since it's CNN) there will be an hour long discussion.

You guys might find it interesting; I like my
tv too much to throw a shoe at it. Sorry if this is a dupe.

I believe Otis McDonald will be on and I also think Alan Gura will be there from DC.

I have it set to DVR. Should be interesting.

"...gun law prevention would have prevented those crimes."

Well said, Mr. Selective Proponent of the Constitution.

Gura just said "We are not asking for anything more than the ability to protect ourselves IN OUR OWN HOMES with a gun"

I know....I know. But it just seems like we are always beating around the bush. When are we going to finally challenge the actual issue of the fact that Keep means (OWN) and Bear means (CARRY)? I want to be able to protect myself and my family AT ALL TIMES. Not just when we are locked in the relative safety of my own home.

Maybe we will get lucky with incorporation and it will eventually lead to the Constitutional recognition of our natural, individual 2nd Amendment right of self protection AT ALL TIMES.

Wtf ! She just said they are trying to overturn the ban on handguns and automatic weapons. New development ? Lol. Stupid cnn reporters.

"The right to self defense is timeless."

Also, Mr. McDonald puts exactly the right face on Incorporation.

He's stating a very precise fact. In McDonald he isn't asking for the right to bear. In Sykes (http://wiki.calgunsfoundation.org/index.php/Sykes_v._McGinness) and Palmer (http://wiki.calgunsfoundation.org/index.php/Palmer_v._District_of_Columbia), he is.

Think about how CNN would have spun "carry" against him versus how they actually had to sound reasonable with the current framing of McDonald.

Incrementalism works very well for our side.

Amazing. Although its good they consider the case a victory already.

I know Hoff.

I am just getting frustrated. The extremely slow games make me wonder if I will ever be allowed to provide my family with a viable means of protection when we are out in the world.

Perhaps incrementalism will secure the right for my children to protect themselves and their families..

I got a kick the one younger guy they interviewed who said in essence "Guns shouldn't be allowed because I assume everyone to be as irresponsible as I might be."

Any word on a re-broadcast? I just got home from putting out AB962 fliers and have pretty much missed it.

It's interesting to me that the "Representative" (Bobby Rush) that has sponsored HR45, did prison time for weapons charges and his own nephew was charged with a drug related murder. The irony is amazing.

No its not worth watching. Most of it was emotional crap about the dead children, only about a 30 sec spot with Alan Gura

I won't watch it, I will get mad and throw something at my TV from CNN's Liberal Media antics.

Anything gun related on CNN is going to be spun into convincing the general public that guns are bad. CNN and MSNBC are not allowed in my living room, ever.

What a horrid cover as usual by CNN. I did however enjoy watching the younger guy who was balding in his early to mid 20's attempt to argue his position with FUD and lies. His interview only confirmed how little "the average person" knows. Like many here however, I can only take 2 tablespoons of CNN before I get frustrated and changed the station.

Gene I unfortunately missed it. I do agree that taking things step by step is a plus for us but sometimes it is maddening how slow that it is going to win our rights back that should have NEVER been taken away in the first place.

Well, I'm glad that some of you watchers were able to see a silver lining in Gura's performance amongst the FUD.
