where can find this pin? my usual channels, ie midway and brownells turned up nothing. is there a spot online that has old parts like these? mine is sheared in half. it still works, but i dont want it to be in there permanently.. thanks all.

ps- also need black m1a handguard, i removed the picatinny rail from my socom16, and it looks hokey with the big hole in the handguard... thanks again!

Northridge International has Garand parts. They're mail order only now. Man how I miss rummaging thru their parts bins when the storefront was open.

I think that's the follower arm pin. Orion7 has them for $2 each, but they charge $5 shipping and have a $20 minimum order rule if you want to pay by credit card.

He also has M14 handguards, but only lists them in brown. They are easy enough to paint though.

The Orion7 stailess steel op-rod spring is another good spare part to have. You will need a new op-rod spring eventually.

Try Numrich. They have parts for every kind of gun and they ship fast. Here is their Garand page:

I would highly recommend Orion7.

If you decide to order w/ credit card, also order a spring kit and a pin kit. They are really inexpensive but very high quality repair parts.

the orion7 site is bookmarked. thanks for the recommendation! looks like a great resource for my m1's... good to know i now have a highly regarded source for these old parts. that m14 handguard is really inexpensive, also! ill be picking up one of their complete rifles once my c&r gets here, too i think.

I HIGHLY reccomend the SS op rod spring... back about 8yrs ago, my 308 Match Garand was one of Tony's lab rats for his ,then, new spring...Im still using the same spring in the rifle and I only use his SS spring in all my Garand builds.

I really enjoyed browsing through all the cool stuff they had in the shop. Got most of my replacement Garand & Carbine parts from those guys. At least they still have mail order - they even pop up at the occasional show, too.
