i have some magpul 10/20s, not sure about the follower (black).
empty chamber and the bolt forward with fresh mag, when i pull the bolt back, it jams as it slams forward. even when i load a mag with two rounds, it still jams.
im thinking as a bolt is pulled back, it rubs against the round and causes it to tilt upwards???
any help would be appreciated.
thanks.

have you tried to lock the bolt to the rear, insert the mag, and try to go into battery?

When you insert the mag on the locked bolt are you sure its 100% seated (tap and tug)?

What type of rifle do you have.....In other words...did you build it yourself..?? I hope you dont have a M4 ramped receiver and a standard barrel...

who did the 10/20 mag job? cuz the p-mags come with a pretty good anti-tilt follower.

Not the 20 round P-Mags. They do in fact tilt.

lmt "16 barrel why?

Didnt ask about the barrel only....did I..???

It was a legitimate question as to the the barrel and receiver as a whole. Just wondering if the problem was non-magazine related......sometimes we as shooters overlook the obvious..

Send me a pic....I'll tell ya.

They are a good thing.....they arent totally necessary...but neither is alot of other stuff.

Have you fired this rifle...???

Sounds like the basic mechanics of it is working fine. If you allow the bolt to fly forward out of the locked position...it works fine. That sounds good to me. When you do it manually...are you doing it quick and hard...with some elbow grease...??

I think in anycase, you should get the magpul gen 3 follower. its really worth the money

90 percent of the time its the follower causeing jams like that to occur. Its happened to me before. I swapped the follower out for a gen 3 and it works great now.

Forgot its a pmag. Better suggestion, dump all pmags and go for the correct aluminum ones:D
