**Well I finally got it down to the range! After it was sighted in I shot 7 rounds, aiming at a 1" Shoot-N-See repair sticker at 100 yds and pulled off a group that was about 1.25"-1.5". These shots were numbers 7-14 fired from the rifle, ammo was Hornady 150gr SST w/ Ballistic Tip, wind was about 20-25mph, front of rifle was supported by a sand bag, rear was just in my shoulder. Overall I am extremely happy with the gun/scope and cant wait to start hunting with it!**

My rifle is finally done! Picked up the rifle on the 7th of September, and just got the scope, mounts, and rings yesterday.

Remington 700 VTR Desert Recon chambered in .308 w/ X-Mark Adj. Trigger
Remington SuperCell Recoil Pad
Leupold VX-II 3-9x40
Mounts are Redfield Low Profile 2 Piece
Rings are also Redfield

I also have a Dednutz mount but decided to go with the Redfield. Seems to feel a little more sturdy IMO.

This will be mostly used for hunting, but will definitely be getting some range time as well.

Total cost of build (Every part of this setup was brand new): $535 :D I have a VERY generous friend that was able to get me some amazing deals on just about everything

Now for the pictures!

That is an awesome rifle, congratulations! Great price too!

Do you have a sling for it? Rifle like that needs a sling.

Also, if you're shooting the same cartridge, I can recommend these BDC cams:

Yea I have a sling from another rifle that only gets range time, so Ill probably just use that. Its a black neoprene Butler Creek on a set of Uncle Mikes QD's. Its pretty comfy :)

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn! That's ungodly nice for the amount spent! I'll second or third the request to talk to your friend and see if he'd be willing to build something similar for calgunners. Obviously he'd charge more, but even if it's $750-800ish, that's a screaming deal.

As great as that would be, it wouldn't happen :( he doesn't own the gun shop or anything, he just knew how much/long I wanted this setup and decided to help me with it. It was just a very generous one time type thing.

Sorry to let everyone down! Haha

Thank you though everyone for the comments! I'll be sure to do a range report! :)

Im calling BS on $535 unless its stolen.

The rifle alone is $875 and add a scope for $300 and then rings and sling. Your way over $1000.

I'll tell you want. If you can get them complete or just the rifle alone for 535 I will take 30 of them right now just PM me. Wholesale isnt 50%!

You have a point...

Here's how it works out:

BTW: these are dealer costs, zero markup

Rifle: $635
Scope: $239
Rings: $25
Base: $20

Total: $919 Now add tax and DROS: $1026 and that doesn't include shipping, or any accessories such as a sling, bi-pod.

Something is not right.

Is the rifle/scope used by chance?

It is NOT stolen.

I have a very good friend who was very GENEROUS and HELPED me with it. He is very close friends with an FFL, got it for wholesale and HELPED me with it. Meaning he pitched in to help me get it. Rifle price was $495ish, I paid $400. Scope/rings was $225ish, I paid $135.

Call BS all you want, I'm the one that signed the DROS, paid up, and have the rifle

WOW.... Distributor cost for these is more than $425 in camo, let alone digital camo like yours.... Two VTR's for $850.... And $135 for a $250+ scope, rings and base...

I don't know what to say other than you have a great friend.

Haters or people who are less than honest?

Yes its a nice rifle that someone else paid for. NOT 535.00 cost but partially paid for by someone else.

Here is the quote........
"Total cost of build (Every part of this setup was brand new): $535 I have a VERY generous friend that was able to get me some amazing deals( NO MENTION THE FRIEND PAID FOR THE PARTS) on just about everything" The poster tried to make it appear he got a "Good Deal". SORRY but if someone else pays for your parts thats not a "Good Deal".

Like I said I will take 30 of these rifles and scopes for $535.

So now we know.........

There is now way there is 50% markup on these parts.

I DONT SEE ANY MENTION OF HIS FRIEND PAYING FOR THE PARTS ONLY "GETTING HIM A GOOD DEAL" WHICH IS NOT THE SAME A A "GOOD DEAL"

So now we know.........

Dude...

What's up...Be happy for the man regardless who paid for it unless it came out of your pocket and you want credit for it....

Oh, have you ever worked retail in a gun store? Markup on accessories is in excess of 50% on alot of items...Guns are loss leaders. It is the extra's that the store makes money on....

Did I NOT get a good deal? Even if I paid every cent of it I still would have gotten everything for less than the cost of the rifle at retail. So I DID get a pretty amazing deal on it (In my mind at least..)

Since youve gone as far to copy a quote, why did you fail to mention this one? Rifle price was $495ish, I paid $400. Scope/rings was $225ish, I paid $135. So youre right, I didnt pay for the entire thing, but if I would have I wouldve only paid $720. Still doesnt sound like I wouldve gotten that bad of a deal huh?

that someone else paid for. Only 2/7ths of it ;)
