Hi,
Anybody make one? Interested for Multi-gun long range swingers.
Thanks,

I use a N4 topped with TA31F/G for targets ranging out to 550 yards. Its pretty common to get 1st round hits on the rams at Sac Valley with 75gr HPs.

Leupold makes a 1.5 to 5(?) power scope Mk2 maybe. It has a bdc reticle and knobs with a lit reticle. The light is pretty weak in daylight.

I watched Bear308 pop the bonus target at 500 first shot by turning the knob. He did it twice so it wasn't a fluke.

If you know the holdovers for the particular round you're shooting you can use any reticle with mil or MOA markings. It's a little more work than having a BDC already printed on the reticle but good to know in case you don't find the scope you want with a BDC.

Personally, I would avoid the recently produced Leupolds. You'll noticed that they no longer mark their scopes "MADE IN THE USA". That's because they've completely cheapened their scopes while raising prices....and reports on the latest scopes haven't been as good as their former scopes.

400 yards is hardly long distance. Unless you're shooting benchrest style groups, a 4x scope (like a ACOG) should work just fine. The Elcan SpecterDR would be my first choice for a 4x optic (plus it does 1x RDS for close up stuff) if you want a BDC in the reticle. If you don't mind using knobs to dial in BDC, then the S&B Short Dot is GTG.

Primary arms have a few new scopes, their 4X tactical have a similar reticle
as the TA01, I think its a winner and budget priced.

There are several choices:

Illuminated:

- Acog ta31/33 for lower cost.
- Leupold MR/T
- Burris XTR
- IOR CRT

Non-illuminated and lower cost:

- Pentax Gameseeker w/BDC
- Nikon Prostaff w/BDC

There are other high-end pieces from the big boys, but personally, I could not justify myself to own one of them.

For CQB, I like the horseshoe reticle the most, but would take a red Chevron if I can find another good deal. ;)

For the 5.56 at 400 yards I would choose the Burris 1-4x XTR
