I just finished my first AR build using resources here and Brownell's AR-15 builder. I performed the non range function tests as shown in the lower reciever assembly section of the Brownell's video and everything on my rifle performed as described. With my upper now on my rifle the safety selector seemed to function correctly until after I released the bolt and dry fired. After I pull the trigger, the selector will not go back to the safe position. If I charge the rifle again the selector will once again move freely. Is this normal? Is it because I am not shooting and there is no ammuntion cycling through the rifle? Thanks for the help for the AR newbie!

The hammer has to be cocked to let the selector go into safe. It's a normal condition.
