Is a belt feed rifle legal in Cal? Avoids the mag issue, but I have my doubts since its Kalifornia. :36:

yes, a semi-auto belt-fed rifle can be legal in CA. Depends on the configuration. The belt-fed would normally be considered a detachable magazine, so you need to go featureless. No pistol grip below the action, flash hider, etc.

The 1919a4 is legal in CA because the PG is not below the action, but is behind it. Or, it is because it is not a rifle, which is a firearm designed to be fired from the shoulder. No shoulder stock = no rifle. Because it isn't a rifle, it can't violate the rifle AW regs. Now, put a shoulder stock on it and make it a 1919a6, and now you have to comply with the rifle AW regs.

They're legal in the A4 configuration, or you can add the M3 type spade handle backplate with the butterfly trigger and that's legal as well.

Save your A6 buttstock/bipod flash hider set up for free state use.
