As in repro?

Numrich Arms has them:

They're finished much better than the photo indicates. They used to do teak, I guess they switched a few months ago. They do require a bit of fitting on the underside to match the stock contour.

I put one on a No. 4t clone that I built awhile back. They're nice but they do require some fitting.

Regarding fitting, you can either dress down the underside of the cheek piece to match the stock contour or use epoxy to build it up and match the top contour of the stock. I found that the front end of the cheekpiece usually matches up well, but the back end leaves a gap. I just used some putty like filler - black & grey stuff, sort of like Play Doh - and put a glob of it on the underside of the cheekpiece. Works well and looks fine after sanding down. I used 1.5" brass wood screw to anchor it - make certain you don't use too long screws and leave the plastic oiler in. :kest:

So how's the CadTechnik mount working for you? Solid, lines up OK? I bought one to put on a No4 and am using an old Weaver scope.

I haven't had a chance to take it to the range yet....

Installation was a snap. It went right on.

Tinkering in my garage into the wee hours is one thing but driving to a decent rifle range is another.

My cheek rest came yesterday and I put it on my scoped no4mk1 Savage
I picked this rifle up for $100 a few years ago back east.
It was already scoped, so I don't know anything about the drill and tap mount, except its williams and the scope is an older banner by bushnell
The rest was 27 bucks and is lovely wood. As noted above its needs relieving
(I actually just built it up with wood putty)
