Bore cleaning

I did a search and didn't really find my answer so I'll narrow it down.

What's the best chemical to use to get rid of foulding. I want the chamber and bore of my 1911 to be PERFECT. I currently use nitro solvent and a brass brush. I do the usual method and can't seem to get it all out.

What do you guys use? "Knock-out"? I've heard names floating around, but I want to save some shoe-leather.

I've tried the wipe-out product and it does a pretty good job of getting rid of junk with minimal elbow grease http://calguns.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif faster than the foul out kit, too. you still need to brush it with solvent and use some patches afterwards to leave it spotless, though. works very well in shotguns, too.

One thing these cleaners have in common is that they are odorless, or smell better, than Hoppes.

I can tell you guys that I smelled the KG stuff and its not bad at all. nothing like Hoppes or Butches Bore shine. I'm going to give it a try when my Butches runs out.

Reminds me of cleaning my old mans Remmy 1100 after he took me hunting. Ive been trying other cleaners/solvents for a few years but I still like a light coat of good stuff before they hit the safe.

I've been trying out Wipe Out as well, but I must caution users here that it appears to be corrosive to brass, so don't use it on guns that you carry regularly else the microscopic residue could potentially eat away the cases.

I have the pictures I can share, but I'll need to go get 'em.

I use M-Pro7 Bore Gel for my pistol barrels. Works great, but still has a bit of residue. I say it gets about 95% clean. I like it cuz its completely odorless and non-toxic.
