Buying direct from Spike's and paying a transfer fee is NOT going to be the best deal - unless you have an FFL friend who does free transfers.

Use cost averaging by buying multiple lowers to absorb the transfer fee.

You can put multiple lowers on one DROS but you still have to pay a transfer fee on each.

Some FFLs will give you a break on the fee for each one after the first one but not all of them.

In the end, it may be pretty much a wash if you just buy one local and pay tax -vs- paying shipping and transfer fees - plus you support those that are making this all possible for you. If you don't mind a short drive up to OC, we have some lowers starting at $125.

well throw me some suggestions then. i'll be saving a few duckets on the transfer by bringing in 4 or 5 at a time. 5 will set me back around $120 total for tansfer fees and that will come out to around $140 a pop out the door.

i've got 2 Spikes SL-15 lowers and they look really nice. i just got them and haven't built the uppers yet...got one complete Daniel Defense M4 with the OmegaX12 from Bravo Co arriving today. The only thing that i can complain about is that all my Pmags are real snug in the magwell. i have heard this about other brands of lowers too, so i am not too concerned and a little bit of filing on the Pmags should fix it. I am still living in NC right now and am planning on getting some more lowers before i move to Cali...for a rainy day.

Buying multiple is a good way to go. $140 a pop would be a good deal. I would also check to see what stocking dealers in your area can do. Every once in awhile some pre-obama pricing deals on lowers pop up.

Check the OLL google map and make some calls:

I'll second that. Call them and find out what they have in stock. You might even be able to get a deal on a Calguns lower still. But I would definately do it sooner than later.

Who had them for $159? Call JD Machine, I think you could probably beat that, even with shipping and transfer to your FFL.

3 lowers $300.xx after shipping/tax and $60 for the dros of all 3..

Uhh, probably not considering that $20 of that goes to CGF and Kaiser no longer exists. The current stock of Calguns lowers is IT.

So if KD lowers are $ 139.00 ea. retail at one Shop and $179.00ea. retail AT another , which one is called a prfit margin ?

KD lowers are less because they're being blown out by the manufacturer since KD no longer exists and KD lowers are no longer being manufactured. Not all dealers have sold their old stock and are getting the closeout lowers, so they can't lower their prices.

They also can't give the same deal on Calguns lowers due to their commitment to CGF. Calguns lowers might come down a small bit in retail price, but not nearly what KD lowers will be going for soon, and most likely not $149. They have not and will not be going down in wholesale cost.

Not appropriate for this discussion! California DROS fee, sales tax, shipping, and dealer transfer kill this deal. Look at the address of the poster that I quoted!

Yes, PK Firearms is a good vendor.

CWS has been selling lowers at gunshows for as little as $99 plus fees. I have no idea what the current or future price will be.

BUY A CALGUNS LOWER !! They are made by Kaiser and each lower sold generates a $20.00 donation to the website that you are on. If you have a problem with CGN ...then ..well ....

Not everything is about the cost of a lower. Support the people that support you, and made it possible for you to buy ANY AR lower.

One of two places for bang for the buck. Sure you can get one 10 dollars cheaper, but the quality in mega is top notch. Here's a forged one:
http://www.ddsranch.com/cart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=570_573&products_id=525

And beautiful Billet:

These are the best prices on these particular lowers and both are great.

Yupper - I did there. I forgot PK ARms ran that special a while back. I will hold to not being able to get a single lower for $99 OTD all the time here in Ca.....

I have heard rumors that a local manufacturer is blowing lowers out for $80 plus fees in multiples for 5. IMHO this place is good for the consumer, but is screwing over the dealers that have been stocking and selling their product. I feel qualified to say this as I am also in the manufacturing business, and several times people have asked me to do a similar thing. Since my dealers and distributors helped me start my business and their sales keep the volume high, I don't think it makes sense. One has to have some degree of ethics as well. Interesting situation.

all the best,
Mike

No the owner of prk arms said that the same manufacture of cmmg made these. If that's not true, sorry, but that's what he told me

.................................................. .................................................. ....

and yes prkarms and pk firearms are two different vendors

prkarms might be selling them too low but honestly that's what people want. that's what people look for cheap prices. that's why walmart sells millions of dollars worth of merchandise a day. don't blame prkarms, blame the economy then.

As far as I know, it's all a word of mouth thing. Probably guys who have bought before. Crazy, now warning blowout deals happen all the time. Usually because stock needs to get liquidated.
I woulda LOVED to get 0% financing on my truck but I bought it several years to early. Oh well...

I'd rather it be a California manufacturer, like maybe the same one that made the old lowers. They have the same machines and the original machine file. They just need to change the name.
