MRE - throw away or keep

Well, there was a discussion on MRE here recently. I bought mine right before Y2K and have been sitting in my closet or garage for all these years. I would say the storage condition has been good. I kept them in cooler shaded areas of my house. I ate one recently and main meal didn't taste funny. Cracker wasn't as crisp as it used to be. Chocolate cookie was just fine. I noticed peach dessert tasted kinda funny and slight change in color (got darker). Don't know if it is from acidic content or not. Let me hear your opinion. I've read these will last up to 10 years if stored properly. Should I keep or throw away my MREs?

from reading up on MRE's, the storage life recomended by those charts are only for taste, the MRE keeps its nutritional value much longer.
