I have business in Fallon, NV about 50 miles east of Reno. Anyone know of a good CCW class in that area?

I don't know about Fallon but Armed & Safe in the Reno area were very good.

I'm going to Armed and Safe this Saturday.
$60 Nev.,Utah, Florida class is at Scheel's, a big sporting goods store in Sparks.
I'll be "camping" at my west shore Tahoe cabin and then will be joining the early morning Saturday commute to Reno; about 45 minutes, or so.

I believe that Washoe county sheriffs office accepts CCW apps on weds only. Correct me if I am wrong.

Monday through Friday, unless it changed recently

M-f all the time. Just get there early or you'll have to wait. I got there right before everyone went to lunch so the 20 minutes too about an extra hour. Get an extra copy of your fingerprint cards if you are sending them to Utah or Flordia.

I will also be going to the Armed and Safe CCW on this Sat. Already have Utah CCW, want to get NV since they do not accept Utah CCW in NV

Have you thought about taking your training and getting your permit in southern Nevada, since you're in the OC?

I went through these guys, excellent instructors. One is retired Washoe Sheriff and the other is retired Reno PD.

The http://www.armedandsafe.com/ class this last Saturday was an enjoyable and worthwhile experience for $75.
The only thing that I would recommend is to bring a good sun hat and shooting gloves if using a revolver. The revolver cylinder got mighty toasty hot on my rugged outdoorsman palms after only about two reloads in the hot desert sun.
Well, hot to me 'cause I live on the coast where it rarely breaks 80 F.:nopity:

Looks like applications may not be submitted on Wednesdays:eek:?

http://www.washoesheriff.com/fingerprints.htm

Fingerprints are taken for all permit applications and registrations.

Persons who need fingerprints for purposes other than permits or registration may provide their own fingerprint card(s) or the Records Section can provide the card(s). The service charge is $10.00 for a set of 1 or 2 cards per person per visit.

Permit Section Hours:

Monday - Tuesday - Thursday - Friday

8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
I'm heading there on the 16th to turn in my app.
I'll ask.
Or call this phone number in United States of America with Skype: +17753283001\

10/16/09 EDIT: The Incline Village office does not process permits on Friday; the main office in Reno does.

Unbelievably easy, zero hassles, all smiles at the processing office.
Walk past the young men in horizontally striped gray & white clothing dusting the plaques on the wall, say hi to the cordial receptionist, sign in and have your CCW documents with you, smile for the camera, chat with the nice fingerprint lady, pay your money and goodbye!
