I know its an impossible wish but you never know.

So, I broke my Glock19 barrel with double rounds of a high pressure load. I am currently bororwing stock barrel from a wonderful gentlman name Steve, http://calguns.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Thing is, I have a IDPA regional match next weekend and if anyone have aftermarket barrel like BarSto etc, can I borrow just for a week?

Rika I noticed you are using the Weaver instead of what Matt Taught you! http://calguns.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Some advice, don't reload if you do not know what you are doing. Why reload 9mm when Wally World has Winchester White Box? Your face and hands will thank you for not blowing them to tattered shreds of meat next time. http://calguns.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I'm not understanding what happend to your barrel. Was it a double charge of powder or a squid bullet in barrel?

Glad you're still all together. Barrels are easier to get then fingers.

I'm confused! Don't you load a 143gr subsonic load?

Rika was taught to load by Ivan, (I think, which is dangerous http://calguns.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. I'm sure she knows what she is doing. She needs a load that she can't just buy at wally World..

Ok, I guess I started tally differnt topic than I originally thought.

To answer your questions about reloading. No, I don't want to use factory ammo because I am competing in IDPA/IPSC hence I need lowest power factor possible. If you compete you understand.

And no, I might not knowing what I am doing but without trying and starting somewhere, I will never know what I am doing, you know? http://calguns.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif . And I know I am taking risks here. Thank youf for caring about me.

And yes, Ivanimal taught me "how to" load but its my resonsiblity to follow his direction. His teaching and kindness, I can not say thank you enough. The mistake I make is all my own.

And yes, I load 147gr about 880 power factor but I use fast burning powder which gives high pressure. So many people told me "Don't do it!" but me being so sturbborn and this is how I learn - only making mistakes myself. http://calguns.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

And, no, you can not "see" the damage in the barrel. I am talking about 0.005 inch difference and only caliper can tell.

Bummer about the barrel, glad to hear you weren't injured.

Haven't had my new G19 long enough to collect an extra barrel though http://calguns.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

oh, its double "load"... double amount of powder in one bullet. I made so many squibs and now I can tell the moment it goes of. So, its a good experience since nexst time I pulled the trigger on squib, I can instantly stop shooting and push the bullet out.

FWIW my 9mm load is a 147 grain Hardcast LRN pushed by 5.0 grains of HS-6. HS-6 is a slow burning powder and it would be hard to miss a double charge as the case will fill up entirely. It makes a 131 PF out of my G19.
