Overheard two SDPD uniformed guys talking at a restaurant about some hot issue with Discound Gun Mart in San Diego. Seems the store has BANNED officers from the store over something that occurred and filed a complaint against several specific officers. None of them go in there anymore.
Do not know the details, but it will come out at some point in time for sure. Anyone heard abou this matter?

haha, I've never thought about businesses banning cops before, that's kinda funny.

It would seem to be a poor business practice to me. Most cops I know take friends, relatives and other cops to gun shops, especially those with a range.
If one LEO group is not welcome it stands to reason all the others will stay away also.

You can't really ban Officers from a business, however by making a complaint against an Officer all others in the region will steer well clear of your business permanently.

and yet the shop chose to ban them, knowing they are a valuable source of income. Says something to me, thats for sure.

Some people have stronger principles than business skills.

Is it true that SDPD officers have been banned from doing business at Discount Gun Mart in San Diego?
MAC USMC what is your agenda? Some might interpret this as trying to hurt Discount Gun Mart's business with LEOs.

Yeah, it does seem kinda strange that he "overheard" some officers talking about the exact same thing he mentioned a few months back...

I'm not the one being banned. For the answer to your inquiry give the store a call. This is the third time I have heard this matter discussed, once by a store employee. So, what gives?

do you really have to know the reason why? are you that much of a nosey person?
if you believe that the store shouldn't have banned cops from shopping there no matter the reason, just don't shop there. but to keep bringing this up on a public forum where it can cause potential economic issues with the store just to satisfy your curiosity is just bad taste.

Why don't you ask the store employee?

I'll reiterate on this subject. We have not banned any of the local police departments and continue to strive to serve the individuals protecting our cities and nation. Nor has there been any investigations on our part or directed towards any of the departments that would halt them from entering our store, or selling them firearms or any accessories, or anything for that matter. Just as a side note, we have several ICE members who continually shoot at our range, several departments that are members of our range, and just yesterday I did a quick repair on a gentleman's firearm that was SDPD.
It may have been a rumor, or quite possibly a case of mistaken identity for the store's part. I am unaware of any other stores banning any of the police departments. It would be a shame and a embarrassment to ban the women and men who protect us on a daily basis.
By the way MAC_USMC, I am a Marine as well. I work the nights over there. If you'd like to hear this from me, feel free to give me a call or even stop in and we can discuss this. Semper Fi

it's a conspiricy!!! actually it's the obvious anti-conspiracy where it's not to hurt sales but to give free press.

Same topic, same claim, same poster.
This was addressed once before in this post:
Gentleman, there has been no recent movements in banning SDPD or any Law Enforcement personnel from Discount Gun Mart, nor will there be any bans of Law Enforcement personnel in the store. I believe it was a miscommunication or a rumor. However we welcome LE and do our best to serve them, and will continue to.
As a side note from another thread, there are no investigations undergoing which would halt our services to LE personnel.

The other Ski
