With Vinz's help, I'm proud to start offering the "Stubby" PMAG! It is an internally-modified, chopped-down PMAG that holds either 5 or 10 rounds. The baseplate is permanently cold-welded to the body of the PMAG.

It can be ordered with or without a Ranger Plate here: http://midwestpx.com/product_info.php?cPath=27_68&products_id=299

Those are really cool, I just got mine from Vinz last week and looking for more. Good thing I surf your vendor section as you always have cool stuff and send out ups confirmation numbers faster than light! Any chance you will be doing other colors or modded for 6.8? The mags are perfect for my OLLs/precision builds and keep my hand on a magwell hold well.

I can get Foliage and OD Green however to make those, I have to cut a MagLevel mag which costs 30% more than a black one. I've been hunting for FDE but they're nowhere to be found :(

Get 'em while you can! Once what I have in stock is gone, these are gone for GOOD due to the supply of first gen PMAGs drying up!

Do these work with 6.8 SPC? Or is there a way to mod them? They're very cool!

You can get a few rounds in them but not 10. Unfortunately, Magpul has yet to make a 6.8SPC magazine.

What about making a slightly longer mod so 10 6.8s will fit? or does that constitute a hi-cap since more than 10 5.56 rounds will fit?

Well that's part of it but the bigger unknown is whether or not the 5.56 follower in the 20rd PMAG will feed 6.8 reliably. I don't do much with 6.8 so I don't even have ammo test it with.

On a stock pmag body you can only feed a few rounds before the body bulges beyond usable.

Do the dust covers fit these with 10 rds in them?

Do the dust covers fit these with 10 rds in them?

No. The dust cover requires about 2mm of clearance and you only need about 2.5mm to slip another round in. Due to polymer flex, the magazine will flex just enough to accept the round.
