so i bought this trigger housing that was supposedly "new in wrap." it looked new and i believe it was NOS, however the part is extremely defective. the pressure pads/rails are not even remotely close to parallel, they are off by almost 1/10 of an inch. it is like it is "twisted."

as we all know this is one of the most critical areas in M1 accuracy.

If this was to end up in a u.s. military armorers hands i think it would be tossed as being out of spec.

here are some pictures, because there is no amount of words that can describe this better than pictures:

You went through fleaBay? You're not going to get far once they realize it's for a firearm.

This is a legitimate sale according to their own rules, but the dispute is officially through paypal (I know ebay owns paypal) because I paid for the housing. I know all about the anti-gun sentiment on ebay, so we'll see if they follow their own rules.

That is all left to be determined.

The seller did tell me to go ahead and return it to him - so I did, and now he is refusing to refund the cash. Plus he still has the housing.

But back to the original question:

Do you all believe this to be an unusable, defective part, or do you think it is perfectly OK to use?

Screw that, if it's twisted you need your money back. You didn't pay for a slightly damaged item. If paypal doesn't refund your money go to your bank and complain to them.

Contact the seller and say you want your money back. If you paid by Paypal do a charge back, looks like you didn't. Leave negative feedback saying the seller is selling bad stuff.

the dispute has already been filed yesterday, but...

You know how paypal always makes the default payment for instant cash from the bank account intead of the credit card, well here is the f'ed up thing about that. when i paid for it i clicked pay but forgot to make the payment form come from my credit card.

this was my first paypal transaction in like 5 years, and i just completely forgot about that part.

talk about feeling like an idiot.

Leave negative feedback saying the seller is selling bad stuff.

done this morning, his first neg too.

the dude is being completely a'hole dishonorable about it too.

If you cannot get a replacement from the seller, I have a spare trigger assembly that I want to sell. PM me if you are interested. Here's a pic:

I think PayPal deliberately designs their site so the path of least resistance or automatic reaction is to pay from your bank account. I've done the "Oh, shoot I didn't mean to do that" also. But if you prevail I think they will take the $$$ from the seller & refund to your account or PayPal $$$ instead.

My emphasis on pleading would be the part is clearly defective AND .... he's got the part. You have nothing.

BTW, I had a similar weasel try and screw me, I complained & EBay took my side. The EBay seller had also let it be known "I do business on GB under the same name" and I went on GB and let folks know the guy had a bad rep, not just with me but in general on EBay. If he's on GB, you may want to let him know you're not above a little retribution.

I sold a gun and got money through payapal - they cancleed my account and wonb't even listen to any comments about it - most annoying. I'd keep the description of the item OUT of your conversation.

I got ripped off buying a scope on ebay, paying with paypal from my checking account, and paypal gave me back all my money. No problems.

Is a repark job?

No, it was pretty clear it was new-old-stock. It had no usage marks, or wear. It was one that simply got bent/torqued somehow in the manufacturing process. There was no trauma of any kind to suspect that it happened after it was manufactured. It was even in it's original stock box form Springfield.

The seller keeps saying to me "oh it's good"... "it's perfectly fine." I reply that "if you think it's fine then why don't you just refund my cash and sell it to someone else - no-harm no-foul.

I even offered to just accept a refund of the purchase price and eat the shipping to give him the benefit of the doubt that he didn't know it was bad. So he loses nothing.
