Does anybody else think that is a little on the high side? I remember buying and selling one for a $100 last year.

I dunno what they normally go for, but I just picked up a 24/47 for $150...so I'm contemplating whether or not I should bite on this...theres only 9 left :\

Yeah, that's high...

I saw them somewhere a few weeks ago for $159 (...or was it $129).

I'll try to find it and post up...

EDIT:

Samco has them for $159 and $129 for a barreled receiver...

I'm pretty sure m24/47's and m48's are a little different.

EDIT: I just glanced through some of the differences, the extra $150 to me isn't worth it for the accessories.

A couple weeks ago I paid $260 locally for an immaculate M48+300 round spam can of ammo. So id say it is on the high side unless all the little accessories mean something to you.

own both, quite a bit of difference. m48 are updated 98, with the big difference being action a little bit shorter. between m24/47 and m48 the action is alot smoother for the m24/47. handsdown the m24/47 is a nicer rifle. IMO:cool:

That's the M24...not the M48...and the M24 with the accessories is $199.

The fact that Aim's offering was #s matching (including the bayonet) was what caught my eye...

I have to confess some ignorance in regards to Yugo Mausers. I thought they were basically the same, with maybe a few variations. Is it worth the extra $100 to get the M48 over the M24/47...?

Are they more rare or collectable?

One more point...the AIM M48's are the early versions that have the machined floor plates, as production went on, the Yugoslavian's started to go a little cheap and stamp more of the parts. The M48 was all machined, the M48A had the stamped floor plate, and the M48B had even more stamped parts. You usually encounter the M48A. Not that ANY of the M48's are "bad"...:D

Well...for me, AIM's price was right based on the total package: #'s matching (including the bayo), "collector" grade (I've never been let down by AIM, can't say the same about some other MILSURP dealers ;)), accessory package, and free shipping to boot!

The M24/47 is a great rifle, too...in this particular instance, based on the TOTAL package, the M48 was worth the extra $100. But, as always YMMV!!! :D

hmm, this package seems to be exactly the same as what mitchell's mausers was offering a few years back (albeit mitchell's was charging $300 for the package some five years ago), now before everyone gets on me for even mentioning the mitchell's name, I'm just saying that the items appear to be the same... it is of course quite well known that they force matched parts and rebuilt rifles to claim they are "unissued". I can personally say that M48 rifles are very nice, reliable, and fun to shoot, just bring a thick towel/wear jacket or get a recoil pad if you've never shot one... that stainless steel buttplate is like a meat tenderizer!
