Hey does anyone have a kit for the Mas 49/56 that makes it look like a AR10? I have a buddy looking for one. Thanks!

I guess they do not make it anymore that I could see. I heard from the old manufacturer that 1,000's where made? Kinda doubt that but who knows... :)

I think I know the kit you're referring to and it is very cool...

I'm just wondering how someone would build a CA legal MAS out of this. With the pistol grip it makes it "evil". A bullet button isn't really an option because the magazine is retained by a spring-loaded clip on the side...

You can always drill and tap the hook part of the clip to the receiver so the mag is fixed. i had a 49-56 in 308. bought it for a cool 100$ out the door. that included tax dros and the rifle price. Ended up cutting it up with a torch cause it was a heavy wild shooting POS. i never ever got that rifle to shoot less than a 10 inch grouping. never figured out what it was i just got sick and tired of messing with it.

way i understand it is they were never any good in .308 but in original 7.5x54 they were a marvelous, accurate and dependable rifle. hell, foreign legion used the fool things until like the 80s. i'm told there's 1 company that knows how to make the .308s work worth a damn, might be that mccann, the name eludes me, but generally you're better off getting one in 7.5 and using the actual french scope mount. don't think i'd go putting some bastard AR kit on it. however, to each their own, long as you're gonna take it out and shoot it, more power to ya.

Metric FAL mags come very, very close to fitting the MAS 49. I have about 35 of their 10 rounders and would love to have had hi caps for the 49/56.

This one I have shot... it is .308 and it is a blaster not a long range high end rifle.

hey if it's 308 and goes bang without problems it's a gem. 7.5s though are actually reliable and accurate at range. just for fun though, if it works, blast away!!!

It goes bang for sure... Accuracy I only shot about 10 rds through it in rapid succession... I was killing paper... :)
