Does anyone have any experience with this organization:

http://www.utccw.com/index.php?page=frontpage&PHPSESSID=0501874b5caa6bdec09a708a58b2bc4f

Are they legit? They claim that UT ccw can be obtained via online until the end of April, and then the regs change May 1 to prohibit on-line certification.

Thanks in advance.

Does Utah have reciprocity with CA?

NO ONE has CCW reciprocity with CA.

IIRC, though, Utah CCW will work in quite a few states.

I didn't think so. So is the point just to be able to carry in the states that will honor a UT CCW? I just don't get the utility for a CA resident.

For states with reciprocity or that honor UT's ccw, see http://www.packing.org/state/index.jsp/utah; too many to list that accept the UT permit in one or both directions. Interesting that UT is not honored in PRK, OR, or NV.

Utility I guess depends on how much time you spend in states that do.

Nice to be in ID half the time, we honor anyone's ccw.

Unfortunately for me, I don't spend that much time outside the PRK. I occasionally go to ND to visit my wife's family, but only for a couple of weeks at a time.

I went for the permit for the following reasons:
1. It's cheap and over internet (no classes required)
2. Renewal is $5.00 (forty years will cost $100.00)
3. Already gives you half the country and the trend is going our way fairly quickly.
4. I am praying for national reciprocity.

Some states distingush between resident CCW and non-resident CCW for reciprocal purposes with out of state CCW holders. Therefore, if you are planning on getting a Utah CCW, being from California, to carry in a reciprocal state, check that state's laws on non-resident CCW laws.
