I will be at one of the Tea Parties this afternoon. I am going to talk to as many people as possible about AB 962 and SB 585. I will hand out flyers with information including the link to the Governors email and his phone number and urge people to call and demand a VETO.

We need to use this event to spread the word. The people attending are the type who are not at home watching TV, but are out and about and not afraid to speak out! They are also traditionally 2A supporters. This is out last chance to stop this BS they're forcing on us.

Told you so,

not a peep here.

Guns what guns shhh, ok ok so I have guns, but dont let anybody see me load them in to the car on the way to the range! Im soooo proud of my bullet button, hey check out my 10/30 mag its astheticly accurate! UOC'ers! those Komie gun nuts! their ruining our cause, lets take their guns away!!! Hey after AB 962 Ill still be able to get my ammo out of state or Ill take more time at the shop, who cares right? 2nd ammendment support and far left liberal social agenda go so well together its what we do in Cali everyday whats the problem?, Sacremento and DC incumbents, come on down!!

ok ok I digress, but just as I suspected, mums the word on any real conservative uprising in direct oposition to the very leaders with the power and will to stamp our freedoms.

All I can say is, A house divided against itself can not stand, this is why we fail time and time again, we eat our own! even in our single minded cause, the dissent amongst us can be cut with a knife. Unite or die!!

Pravda said it best: (paraphrase) The American Patriot will go quietly into socialism/communism proudly beating his chest to the rest of the world at how free he still thinks he is.

I personally (due to my distance from any events) watched coverage all day, and have been busy sending e-mails.

My friends, I pray for my family, city, county, state, and nation every day, I pray that what those of us who are marching on Washington, sending emails and calls, going door to door with homemade pamphlets and talking with our communitys is actulay making a difference.

We are reaping the friut of what progressives like Teddy Roosevelt began to put in place, and only now close to their endgame have a portion of us taken to the streets it has been too long, I pray that it is not too late. I am worried. I have faith in God to help but not in my fellow men as of yet, we bicker here too much for sharing the same beleif in freedom.

May God Bless America, and may he have mercy on our souls for the nation we have allowed our children to inherit.

And you are...?

What have you done for gun rights lately?

Did you call all the State Senators and ask them to oppose 585 and 962? All the Assemblymen? Did you fax them? Email them?

Have you called the Gov?

Are you signed up to man a CGN booth at the next gunshow? Have you recruited anyone to do so?

Do you plan on attending the Nordyke hearings in SF on 9/24?

Have you donated to CGF? Have you contacted Wildhawker with an offer of assistance? Volunteered to host a local CGN townhall?

Actions, Brother.....

So So Sooo very true. I have seen so many people here, just go with the flow. I will be honest, I have thought about UOC, but I got sooo much crap for it, when I asked a couple people, I felt like a criminal!
If more people where for UOC, and lets say half of the 10k or so active members Carried, dont you think we would make people think maybe we are not bad people?? We as Gunners need to stick together, stop the sissy stuff and bickering! We are all here for the same reason, and we need to start acting like it, before it gets worse! We need to stick together, and get the same freedoms, the rest of the free world has!

Not going against you, but I have emailed all our Assembly Members, I called, and had my friends call, and also did so from work. I emailed and called the Gov, last was about 30 Min ago (that was only an email), SF is too far for me, I live in SoCal, I have donated to the CG Foundation, I am a Member of the NRA, and I have the sticker on my car. I manned the last CalGuns Booth at the Costa Mesa Show, and i believe that at least 10 of my friends are here because of me....I would like to think I have been doing my part!

I ended up going to the protest in Tulare/Visalia area. I didn't open carry and I didn't wear anything that said Calguns, but I did speak to many people who showed genuine concern for 2A rights. I talked about the bills currently on the Governors desk and how they will affect all of us. Quite a few people took the flier I made a said they will email and/or call and urge a VETO. I hope they follow through.

OK while I am not the one you were asking your first comment on this post just made me want to post :)

I am a 42 year old female that is disabled and helps to fight for 2A rights here in CA. I am also a mother and many other roles in life. But this isn't a discussion about those things so I will leave them out. :)

Yes I contacted every single assembly and senate member numerous times regarding both bills both by phone and email. Yes I have also contacted the Governor on asking that he vetos the bills.

Yes I have worked the Calguns booth. I have already said I will do so for the show here October 3 and 4 if needed. If not I will make sure that I make a point to stop by and at least see if the volunteers need something to drink or need a break.

Yes I contacted Wildhawker about how I can further out progress on 2A here in California and made sure I was at the town hall meeting that was held here in San Diego. I enjoyed the chance I had to talk to him about the issues that face us here in CA and think there are some wonderful ideas to be worked on to help make this state the great place it once was yet again.

Your comment on stopping the bickering hit it on the head. Its amazing that with all of us wanting the best for gun rights in this state that we are too busy fighting amongst ourselves. I do think though that a lot of the people on here are starting to try to work together. Unfortunately though there is a small group that seems to post quite a lot how bad UOC is.

Well I am one of those UOCers although most of us here in San Diego had stepped down from UOC even before Gene asked. Hell the group in question is also doing all we can to help get 2A rights here in CA. I think that you are right if more people were to OC they would make it less of a unique thing. There are several other states in this country that allow open carry and don't seem to have a problem with it. The problem though is that CA has always been a bit unique from other states as well be that a good bad or indifferent thing.

Andrew, you may not be aware of the efforts underway to more effectively bring motivated RKBA supporters of many interests together in functions designed to promote 2A awareness and gun ownership, not to mention creating a gun-friendly culture here in California. Stay involved and you'll have plenty of opportunity to get the word out. Do note that even the most vocal supporters of UOC have recognized the dangers presented to the cause by uneducated UOCers doing things that will get them tossed in jail and bad press on a large scale. There is a strategic way to approach the issue; I suggest you hook up with pullnshoot, grammaton or kylagwolf for their perspective.

Thanks Wildhawker. I have looked into UOC, and have read lots about what pullnshoot is doing, and I have spent countless hours reading on his website. Its just difficult trying to figure out why there is soo much tension, when we all want to do the same thing. We live in a Liberal state and we all know how liberal everyone but Fox News can be.:D

Here's some feedback on what the other side is thinking of the tea parties. . .

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/09/13/axelrod-says-tea-party-protesters-wrong/?test=health

Axelrod Says 'Tea Party' Protesters Are 'Wrong'
White House senior adviser David Axelrod says that the demonstrations in Washington, D.C., Saturday do not represent the views of the broader public when it comes to health care reform.

The White House has a message to the tens of thousands of protesters who railed against big government during a rally in Washington Saturday: You're wrong.

White House senior adviser David Axelrod said Sunday that the protesters, part of the "tea party" movement, do not represent the views of the broader public when it comes to health care reform.

"I don't think it's indicative of the nation's mood," Axelrod said on CBS' "Face the Nation." "You know, I don't think we ought to be distracted by that. My message to them is, they're wrong."

Axelrod said that President Obama has made clear he wants to "build on the system that we have," dismissing concerns that the president is proposing a large-scale government intervention and claiming broad support for the president's plan.

The rally, and others like it, have been billed as "tea parties," part of a movement that takes its cue from the Boston Tea Party and other imagery from the days of the founding fathers. On Saturday, men wore colonial costumes as they listened to speakers who warned of "judgment day" -- Election Day 2010.

FreedomWorks Foundation, a conservative organization led by former House Majority Leader Dick Armey, had organized several groups from across the country for the Saturday event, dubbed a "March on Washington."

Some demonstrators specifically protested government spending and health care reform plans.

"I'm Not Your ATM," one sign said. Another slogan was, "Obamacare makes me sick."

Some signs, reflecting the growing intensity of the health care debate, depicted Obama with the mustache of Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler. Many made reference to Obama as a socialist or communist, and another imposed his face on that of the villainous Joker from "Batman."

Axelrod suggested Sunday that the more over-the-top demonstrations were representative of a minority view -- the kind exhibited at some town hall meetings over the summer.

"I don't believe that some of the angriest, most strident voices we saw during the summer were representative of the thousands of town hall meetings that went on around the country that came off peacefully, that were constructive, people voicing their points of view," Axelrod said. "You know, one of the great things about our country is people can express themselves even if they're not representative of the majority."

I was there. I didn't wear Calguns gear because it wasn't a 2A event, but I did have on an NRA instructor cap.

I find lots of sympathizers at Tea Party events. Usually it isn't their major issue, but but they understand the 2A and agree with it. They often like it a lot more since early November, 2008. :-)

The kind of people we need to win. Not everyone is going to make it their first issue.
