Ok guys, I've just started getting into C&R, bought a few, sold a few.
Not sure how many I'll end up with - SO, how many do you guys have...?

Also, do you have a C&R license?

I have my C&R a few weeks ago and have a few Mosins, long and carbine...

I've got a K98, Mosin M39 and a Ballester-Molina. I'd like to get more but I lost my job back in Jan and only started working again recently. Once I get caught up with bills and such I'll start buying firearms again. I'm already salivating with the ideas of what I'll get.

I currently don't have a C&R license but I'm going to fill out the forms shortly and send off my money for one.

91/30
m44
tula sks
svt40
vz58
vz24
enfield SMLE
2x Swiss K31
berthier m16 carbine
old mossberg 22

the swiss k31 is "my" gun; i love hitting targets at 600m :) it really is the luxury car of the bolt-action. nothing else comes close imho. trigger, action, accuracy...unmatched.

the sks is a lot of fun too; its so easy to shoot, so easy to clean, its the gun to take to the range when you take out a lot of folks who've never shot before and wont help you clean up when you get home. most "fun" semi in the collection

the svt40 is a great gun too, but its a pain to clean, and i find it unergonomic.

the carbines (m44 and berth) are literally a blast; short little barrels and full sized ww1 cartridges=ginnormous fireballs and they are LOUD LOUD LOUD. (8mm lebel is louder than the .54r imo)

they're all fun in different ways, i guess; i think my *least* fave is the vz24, and i dont really have a reason for it, i just dont care for it compared to the ruggedness of the mosins, the class of the smle, and the amazing action of the k31.

now to get a k98, a g98, an enfield jungle carbine, and a garand before the year's out. :)

I think around 45. I picked the 50 marker by mistake. My favorite one is my Garand. If I list any others, the rifle swill hear, grow jealous, and I'll shoot more flyers as a result.

my 91/30 is favorite for now..... since that is the first C&R gun i've bought and shot.

SKS would probably take its place though once I can actually find one that isn't being priced like it was made of gold....

My favorite so far is my Russian sks mainly because of the availability of ammo, and that it's semi-auto. my mosin nagant m38 gets 2nd for the bigass fireball and boom that it makes.

More importantly, it's my wife's favorite. 'Oh huhhneeee, we need more ammo'. At any given time, it's equally likely that she's saying that instead of me. Now she's bugging me to start looking for a Garand or two. :D

I started to list them, but when I got to 15 I thought "Man, I may be a C&R-aholic!"

A favorite is tough...I love shooting my 1871/88 Dutch Beaumont-Vitali (nothing like black powder cartridges!). My K-31 is such a beautifully made gun, and accurate as heck. The M-44's are a hoot (especially at dusk, what a light show!) and I love my Russian SKS's, simply because they're the "gun that saved Kalifornia." The Nagant's, the M-1's......

Ah, heck...my favorite is the one I've got locked, loaded, and pointed down range!:D

I collect only U.S. martial arms, both handguns and long guns. I have over 25 - count off the top of my head, from Springfield Trapdoor .45-70 and Colt New Army & Navy .38LC. My favorite by far is the Springfield M1903, in all it's variations. Always looking to add something I don't have.

Top of my list is my gi bringback G43. Like others said, the K31 is about the best shooter I own, but there is not alot of people out there hauling G43s around.

The one thing I never expected when I got my C&R was the amount of guns I would acquire with it. Today I went thru my collection of 30+ C&R guns and tried to figure how they all got in my safe.

It's hard to pic my absolute favorite (system). But I'd say the top four are as follows:

1) M95

3) Finnish M39
4) Gew 88

Although sometimes they shuffle...

bought it from the Army when he got back from Europe for 45 bucks in 1946 if I remember right. There are some pictures of him in europe with the rifle all throughout his tour. My father still has those but someday I will inherit them as well.

I've got a few. The Mosin collection includes 3 91/30's (one round, one hex, one a repro sniper), an M38, an M39, an M91/59, and a pair of M44's (an unmolested Polish, and a scouted-out Russian). I've got a pair of M95 carbines, one Hungarian and one Austrian. One K-31 (for now). One Romy SKS. 3 Mausers -- a German (Russian Capture) K98, a Yugo M24/47, and a Belgian K98, converted by Israel to 7.62 NATO. One M1 Carbine, one M1 Garand. A single, wire-wrapped MK. I No. III Enfield. And a Colt SAA in .45 Colt from 1899.

Favorite to shoot is either the K-31 or the M1 Carbine.

what's a wire wrapped gun

It's an Enfield that has wire wrapped around the forend to prevent the wood from splintering under the heavy recoil of grenade (or Mills Bomb) launching.

I have a question for you experienced guys on C&R guns out there. I just realized the wingmaster shotguns were put into production in 1950. Mine has a S/N: of 108,000. would that make it a C&R? it has to be more than 50 yrs old right?

can't say i have a favorite out of my 15 or so. i've got 2 arisakas, 5 mausers, a schmidt-rubin, a steyr m95, an SKS(russian or course), a carcano, a few mosins, and a newly-acquired french MAS 36/51. i've yet to pick up a bad or inaccurate piece, of course, i haven't bought an enfield yet(j/k enfield fans) but in all seriousness, i do love whichever one i'm out with at the time. most of them are ballistically similar, with a few exceptions, many are very accurate, some are very well made, but they're all neat. and they're old! nothing satisfies me more than knowing i've got a rifle, in some cases over 100 years old, that'll outshoot many modern arms. and it's been around that long to boot! take them out, shoot them loud and proud, because they work and were made long before the technology that makes the new, cookie-cutter guns. oh yeah, i hate AR's and am sick of hearing about them. if they chambered one in 8x56r and made it not suck i'd consider buying one. otherwise, if i want a varmint gun, i'll use a 10/22 for a fraction of the price. or better yet, i've got a 6.5 swede with a scope, that'll work.
