Why does it get another shot if it failed?

The author(s) of a bill can put it up again and again, there's no limit. Sometimes, they may not want to, but this one looks close. If the author thinks he has twisted enough arms or made enough deals, he'll ask for another vote.

As usual, I'd do just as NRA suggests - Ed's right there in the capitol fighting this garbage and we need to have his back.

good glad it failed. i feel that if it passes it will only snowball across the state.

If SB 585 passes the Assembly it must go to the Senate for a final vote.

BTW, the Assembly is still in session, right now. Feel free to ONE-CLICK them (and the Senate) right now...

If I know Ed, he'll be saying "Good-night" to the lawmakers as they walk out of the capitol each night this week. He like them to know that NRA is always still there after they've gone home.

EVEN IF YOU'VE CALLED/WRITTEN BEFORE, PLEASE DO IT AGAIN.

IT'S NOT DEAD UNTIL IT'S DEAD.

CONTINUED PAIN!!

(This of course goes for AB962 as well.)

The status says "PASS" and shows 45 votes for it.
It looks like we lost this one :(
...and my "representative", Coto, voted for it
Not like I'm surprised - he voted for AB962 before despite my calls and faxes and lettes.

On principle this bill fails, I hope. But why are there no gun shows held elsewhere in CA other than on state owned land & facilities? Aren't there any other locations where this can be done? Are there insurance issues or some dollar cost accomodated by the state that can't be done the same off state property?

I know this isn't Nevada, but Reno hosts a darn good show at the Hilton (GSR) Hotel, why can't we do the same?

So, SB585 goes to the governor. I hope he shows some common sense, unlike with the lead ban. I also hope some of our 2nd A "friends" like GOC don't screw us with this one.

It appears that SB 585 indeed now goes on to Governor.
