It's that time again. I'm thinking, get there on Saturday to wait in line around 0800 and then lunch after we get our fill of beef jerky and expensive ammo. Who's in?

Lunch? What about an early breakfast? I might go but, I won't know until Friday.

It would have to be around 7AM. Works for me.

Maybe not the early breakfast for me. I have a riding buddy who needs ammo so he might join. I'm definitely going. I wanted to make the meet at Round Table but was laid out in bed sick all that weekend. :(

Count me in. If I can't make breakfast, let me know where it's at and I'll try to head there before everyone leaves for the show.

I should be able to go, will know better later!

Count me in for now though! I'll be looking for reloading supplies :D

Can anyone give an update?
I haven't been to Ventura for several months now. Last time I was there, I picked up two overpriced rifles and still love them.
Has it become a madhouse like Costa Mesa? I don't want to drive for four hours, just to be disappointed.
I refuse to pay Crossroads prices at OC anymore. The last time I stood inline for two hours (with on-line tickets) and then another two at the counters.

I'm going on Sunday. And not early. Standing in line just irritates the hell out of me and I'm done with it.

So don't buy all the .40 and .45 !!

You're thinking of Glendale, which is very small.

It isn't Costa Mesa, The Cow Palace or the Big Reno Show but, it isn't small like the one's I went to years ago in San Luis Obispo or Paso Robles.

Glendale is small alright. You would have to be really Jonesin' for a show fix to waste your time there, but Victorville is the real joke....

So, who wants breakfast and where?

PonchoTA

Personally, rather than breakfast, I would rather get there a little earlier (to get in earlier), then get lunch instead!

Any takers? :D

Some of the companies have CC machines but most don't. I know CWS does. There is an ATM on the premises though.

I would be up for that. I don't think I can get there early enough for breakfast. Lunch it is. PM me your cell # so we can meet.

OK, everyone that wants to have lunch, let's meet in front of the food vendor between the buildings at 12 noon. We'll decide then where to go.

Jonny's Mexican Food?
Or, maybe Joe's Crab Shack since Impactco still owes me lunch!

Andrea's was good last time I did this. I wouldn't mind a big fat bowl of soup, but pretty much anything will do for me.

Supposedly, the place right across the parking lot from Andrea's has even better fish -n- chips!

I'm also up for some Winchester's!

See y'all in the morning!

A gun show is like a swap meet, flea market, trading card show, etc. You never know who will be there until you get there. But, while I know many gunsmiths who attend shows, I've never seen anyone doing any smithing at a show.

How was the show today?

Fire Marshal cracked down and stopped powder sales. I scored an old bore scope for $150! a 1/4" drive Snap-On ratchet for $3 (it currently only goes one way but, Snap On has a lifetime warentee!!!!), 1000 misc. primers for $20! some .25cal bullets for $2/100!!!! half a box of 25-20 for $10, enough parts to make almost 3 complete Lee primer tools for $5 and a few other little things. Overall, I'd say it wasn't the best Ventura show I've ever been to but, it wasn't the worst either.

It was good to see some prices coming down. Wolf 7.62x39 HP black box was $105/500. Some vendors are still in gouge mode but others are coming back to reality. Even CWS prices are down with a WASR around $500 and stripped lowers around $120. There were normal cap magazine rebuild kits everywhere, which I have not seen before at Ventura. Primers were in short supply, as usual. The lack of any powder sales was a bummer since that was the primary reason I went. Cute girls were at several vendors, especially one ammo vendor outside. I did see this brand of ammo at one vendor that made me laugh. Too bad Jacques wasn't with us to buy some since it fits his persona! ;)

Great seeing CSACANNONEER, dreyna14, PonchoTA and the Tedster for lunch. As usual, Andrea's was great.

Bought a Stag Arms .223 AR clone for $1200, full length with a heavy barrel.
Was disappointed that there was no powder for sale which is what I went there for, I guess Kevin de Leon (AB 962) slipped the fire marshall some candy. The cheapest .22 I saw was Federal 550 ct. for$24.95, I'll keep checking Wal-Mart for that. The show will probably shut down after the new ammo ban goes into effect.

How were the prices of the common rifle ammo, .223, 7.62 x 29, 7.62 x51 ammo?

No, FTF will be the only way to buy ammo so, the show should end up with more ammo vendors.

Saw someone wearing an orange hat with Calguns.net written in black in front. In case the person comes in here, you were with your buddies. One guy wearing a black T shirt who looked like he had acne scarring on his face, other guy wearing plaid shirt with mustache, and another guy who I suspect MAY have had a mullet(it's either a really bad haircut or a really good mullet, I couldn't tell )

I was in line behind your group. It was my first gunshow and I wasn't impressed, overpriced garbage as far as the eye can see with few hidden gems. With how much they were charging for some of those Plain Jane rifles, I could have hired a Research and Development team to design/build my own.

That was me with the hat. We've been telling PonchoTA to find a new barber for awhile. ;) :punk:

Well it was nice meeting you guys.... Well, not really meeting since we never spoke to eachother. But it was pretty cool listening in on your convo's. Got my first rifle 2weeks ago so I was lost most of the time. Either way, it was a pleasure. Didn't see much of anything that apealled to me, so I won't be returning tomorrow.

That one big ammo place in the first building was incredible though, so many people.

If you don't have plans next Sunday, come to Angeles Range. There will be a bunch of CalGunners plus the .50 cal club will be there creating big booms.

The lines for Miwall weren't too bad today. I hit their table my second time through the building around 12:30 and there was no line at all. They still had primers (but no small pistols primers) and all calibers of ammo when I left.
