Hey guys, I'm up in Portland on business and was looking around as I usually do for good deals. I found a genuine Colt .36 1851 Navy for $300!!!!!

This is one of the ones made by Colt in the 1970's, not one of the 1860's originals, of course. But nevertheless it is a very nice piece, looks unfired. What do you think? Anybody got info on this particular Colt?

Without a picture, it's tough to tell. There are first, second, and third generation Colt reproductions. But an unfired 1851 at $300 is a steal no matter which generation it is.

I'm on the road and I can't post an image right now, but it is beautiful! It has the rich Colt blue and color case hardened frame. I looked around the net, and I'd have to agree it was a steal. Can't wait to shoot it!

Best price for a real Colt 1851 in .36 was going for about $500 on gunbroker. Other Colt "Signature" series 44s are going for over $700. Sounds like a really good deal. I like my Pietta replicas just fine, but would have loved to find a good deal on a real Colt!
