I'm sitting in the VA waiting line to get something looked at and they have the tv on channel 13. They said they were going to talk about gun shows and "what you won't beleave what you can do at them".

Anyhow I'm sure it's a hit piece but I thought I'd pas it along.

Said the story was at 5pm news

Would this be related to the presentation at UC Davis?

basically a fluff piece. could have been a little more balanced but they did do a disclaimer at the end that gunshows in CA are regulated.

Think you missed it, or perhaps I missed the story in question, but they did a short blurp about the gun buy back in Fairfield this weekend. Nothing much.

Yeah I missed it. 85% of guns that were bought at gunshows were used in crimes.
I bet my money someone got there percentage wrong. Or at least here in California.

Isan't that report timely as the Ca floor is getting ready to vote on AB962 and the bill to close gun shows. Somehow, someway, I am sure that professor goon from UC Davis is in cahoots with some anti's. It's logical since we all don't need a PHD and money from the Goverment to know that his findings are simply not true or logical. But politics and money speak volumes.

"The study state that 85% of recovered crime guns have gone through at least one private party transaction following their initial sale by a licensed retailer."

I bet a study could be put together to show that most cars that don't pass smog have been sold in a private party sale. We can reduce smog by making private party sales illegal!

It sounds like poetic license to make the leap from "85% of recovered crime guns have gone through at least one private party transaction following their initial sale by a licensed retailer" to "American gun shows are the leading source of guns used in crimes".

To date, 100% of guns used in crime did not come from my gun safe.

what they don't tell you of those 85% of recovered crime guns that have gone through at least one PPT, 100% of them were stolen from the lawful owner and then used in a crime:rolleyes: 'minor' detail, whatever...

Ooh, I have a new statistic for them to brag about. 100% of recovered crime guns were used illegally, (by sociopaths). Therefore, if we take away everyone's guns, then people will stop being heinous sociopaths! Brilliant!
