Hi all,

I was wondering if any of you guys know a nice place to shoot. Preferrably some outdoor place that is cheap / free. I'm getting tired of plunking down $10-$15/hr at the range, and its getting really expensive. There has gotta be a place nearby where I can go for free.. Please help!

I live in the San Bernadino, Redlands, Loma Linda Area....anyplace within 30 mins drive would be awesome!
Thanks

1N09 dirt road off the 330 is easy to get to. You'll need a US Forestry parking pass to park and shoot. Just have to drive on the fire road until you get to the shooting spots, which are numbered. Free, beside the parking pass. Just get an annual pass and be done with it. A day pass is like $5.

Area does close when Fire Danger is HIGH. SO, call the Ranger station to verify it's status.

Try West End Gun Club. $10 all day, steel plates out to 200 yards on the rifle range, plates out to 40 yards on the pistol range. Open to the public on Friday,Saturday and Sunday, 8am-4pm.You will need a vehicle with some ground clearance to get across the creek(small pickups or mini vans no problems).
15 fwy, exit Sierra,go north one mile ,look for the West End sign, go in one more mile.

Hey, Cam - was planning on getting out there Sat but have a test for a job scheduled.

Good post on the club - I was thinking of posting the same, but the original poster was unhappy about a $10 fee, so I didn't. http://calguns.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif http://calguns.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Actually,

I didn't mean to be down on places that cost. Currently i'm going to the range 4-5 times a month, and its killing my wallet! haha...maybe I'll get sick of shooting and go like...once or twice a month..

I also might want to get into trap/skeet and then maybe sporting clays later..All I need to do is find someone who would take me out to do this, and maybe intro me into the sport.... being that I don't have a shotgun and have little experience with shooting clay.

Inland fish and game sounds pretty good...how much is membership there for a year?

I don't mind to pay if its worth it, like I don't have to bring targets, just my pistol and ammo. I didn't know that West End Gun Club had steel targets set up for you..only problem is my only mode of x-portation is my honda accord http://calguns.net/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif kind of worried about driving there...

Youi should have no trouble now; the creek is fordable with a small car and the road had been cleaned up. Take it slow and steady and you'l be fine.

I think IF&G is 50 for the year then 5 bucks to shoot. 10 dollar for non members. you also get a better price for clays
