This is wishful thinking I am sure...but are there any states in which one can get a non-resident CCW which will be valid in out great state?

I am in Sonoma County and have heard it's virtually impossible to get one here.

A little farther north and I've read the Mendocino Sheriff has no problem issuing them.

No.

The prk has zero reciprocity with any other state's permit. It also will not honor a permit from any other state.

Many states have no reciprocity, but most of them (e.g. NV, OR) have "shall issue" for non-resident permits so it's just a matter of applying there.

CA has NO nonresident permit NOR any reciprocity (except for Feds and LEOs while they're working.)
